1: Ready to Roll! We had to be at the buses by 4am and ready to leave at 5am. What a sight to see, a caravan of buses leaving the mall parking lot with a police escort. We were escorted to the Alachua County Line. | Sofie Edelman | Viviana & Autumn
2: After a very long day of traveling, we got to our hotel around 9PM. Everyone had been fed at a buffet as we entered D.C., so it was time for a shower and bed. 3: First stop, The White House
5: After the White House we stopped at the National Cathedral. (left) It was breath taking. Helen Keller is buried here. Next was the Newseum (above). This was very popular with our group.
6: These pictures were on the Metro. We had to take the Metro to get to lunch. When we got to the Newseum, we were shown a 3D movie and then we were able to explore the exhibits.

11: Day 2... First stop was Mount Vernon, George Washington's Plantation. It was beautiful. Placed right on the Potomac River. George and Martha are buried here.
12: Air & Space Museum
14: Arlington Cemetery This is the site where John F. Kennedy and his family are buried. The Eternal Flame burns here.
15: John F. Kennedy was one of the most influential presidents of our time. This wall contains an excerpt of his inaugural address. A speech you may have to memorize in school.

17: Arlington Cemetery
18: Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guard A soldier guards this tomb 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Watching their dedication give you goose bumps.

27: Day 3... Yellow Shirts
29: Jefferson Memorial While we were visiting the memorial, Marine One flew over head. The Washington Memorial and the White House are across the pond. Teddy Roosevelt had the trees cut so he could see the Jefferson Memorial from the White House. The round building is the Jeff Memorial.

35: It was a very busy three days, but it was filled with lots of fun and laughs. Thank you for allowing me to chaperone your group. It was tons of fun and filled with memories I will never forget. I love you Katie.
