20: "Nikki Blues" Watercolor My nightly walk in Summerville takes me by this house. One evening, the sun hit those hydrangeas in a way that made me see this garden in a new way. Had to paint it.

30: "Out of the Good Earth" Watercolor on Yupo Listening to "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck recently, I was inspired to paint a whole new series in a whole new way. I named this first piece in homage to her book.

33: "Seasons of Life" Watercolor on Yupo I remember birch trees from when I lived in Montreal. Have always loved them for their white bark and the texture that they add to our landscapes.

35: "Constant Affirmations" Acrylic & Archival Tissue Paper on Canvas You just have to "believe" when you see LowCountry sunsets like this one.

36: "Before the Storm" Watercolor When Hurricane Bruce threw his weight around down in Key West, we felt some of his fury at the Isle of Palms. Waves were beautiful that week and the surfers were out in full force. Bruce never did show up on our doorsteps. He just let us know he knew where we lived!

40: "Welcome" Watercolor The pineapple...a symbol of Southern hospitality. I found this crewel stitched tablecloth on one of my many jaunts through antique shops over the years. Not sure what drew me to it, but I had to have it. When it came time for me to compose this still life, I thought immediately of that tablecloth and had to rummage through the attic to find it. It was perfect!

41: "B & B Reflections" Watercolor on Aquabord | This little still life setting greeted us in the dining room of the 5-star Woodlands Inn in historic Summerville, SC.

42: "Undying Love" Watercolor Roses are complex to draw and to grow. I love doing both. They have a language all their own. | "Wisteria Magic" Watercolor When I first moved to the South, wisteria greeted me and welcomed me into my new world. It's always held a special place in my heart.
