S: The 50-60-70 Event of 2011

FC: The 50-60-70 Event of 2011

1: Dave Fernley had an idea about how he'd like to celebrate his 50th birthday. He asked brother Randy if he'd like to join him in the celebration. After all, Randy was turning 60. Cousin Geoff heard the plan and thought, "Well I'm turning 69. That's close enough to 70. How about a 50-60-70 celebration?" And so it began. A celebratory 50-60-70 birthday climb up the Grand Teton was in the works. The call went out. Who else would be game?

2: Who knows what drew these individuals to answer the call. Was it an item to cross off a bucket list, the thought of the challenge or a connection to this place? Lastly, to Lou Borie, Dave Fernley, Kyle Fernley, Randy Fernley, Rob Fernley, Marjie Findlay & Ellen Glendinning for all your wonderful pictures you have shared with me. I apologize if I didn't use photos of all the individuals who took classes or hiked up to the Lower Saddle (& beyond) with me..
