There's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. Congrats to you on earning your doctorate! ~Denis Costello
Dearest Katrina, I wish to congratulate you for this amazing achievement, becoming a doctor. You are the craziest, most fun loving, sexiest booty shaking doctor I've ever met in my life. However let's not forget about what a lovely and most importantly, what a loving person you are, with the heart of gold. Your warmth, your caring towards others, your readiness to help everybody at any time, have no limits. I believe that is the real achievement that makes you one of a kind. You are an absolutely beautiful person who brought lots of love and joy into my life. I wish you all the success in the future and well deserved recognition for all your hard work. I love you and cherish you forever. Bea
Dear Katrina, Thank you for gluing us all together (as a lab). -Brian Sutton-Quaid
Dear Katrina: What a woman! I am so proud of you and all of your accomplishments. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you at AIMS and in the Trick Lab. You add sparkle to the lab every day with every task you do, like shaking 20L of saltwater, for instance! You take on challenges with such a high level of dedication, enthusiasm and charisma. Your passion and love for your PhD project inspired me to delve into graduate studies, as I am sure you have inspired many other students through TAing and mentoring. You are such a successful woman in academics and in life and I truly look up to you for all of your accomplishments! Congratulations! ~Tory
Congratulations on getting your PhD Katrina. You have taught me almost everything I know in the lab, and I can't thank you enough for that. Let me know whenever you want to have lunch at the GC, we can discuss the finer points of art, literature and classical music, as per usual." – Jace
Hey Katrina, you’ve put in a Hard Yakka effort and done such an amazing job, congratulations! I look forward to working with you. Peace out Hombre. ~Adam Spargo | Congratulations, Katrina, and really looking forward to having you in the lab with the boys ~ David Aldred
Félicitation Dr. Katrina Laurent! Kat, I want to congratulate you on all of your amazing accomplishments! You should be so proud of yourself! I want to thank you for everything, I have learned so much from you both in the lab and about life! You are truly a beautiful person from the inside and out. The thing that I am going to miss the most is probably going to be your singing and dancing in the lab! Nobody can shake their hips quite like you can, while remaining completely focused on their task (certainly a Gemini trait). But I am happy that for the next two years you will be just across the street if I ever need a katdog fix :) Congratulations Katrina! Your future is very bright! Lots of Love, Cayla
Congratulations Katrina! My first memory of you is working together on the first year Biology tutorials in 2008. Your enthusiasm for trying something new and different was infectious. It was a pleasure working with you then, and I look forward to working together in the future. All the best, Johnston. | My exquisite Kataninja, it has been such a pleasure being your friend throughout these last few months and I can only imagine what unbelievable experiences we will encounter in our future together! Congratulations on your incredible accomplishments so far, I know there is still more to come so never change -- I hope that everyday, you will have a chance to laugh, learn, and love. ~Yours truly, Lily Du aka. 22: Fun Fact: On September 15 1835, Charles Darwin and the HMS Beagle reached the Galapagos Islands. 176 years later, on September 15, 2011, you became a doctor. May you have all the success of Charles Darwin and more! Thank you for being an amazing colleague, mentor and friend. Without you, I would know nothing about coral reefs and I never would have been introduced to 'The Man from Snowy RIver'! Mucho love, Melissa
Congratulations Katrina! You have accomplished so much and should be very proud. Thanks for being such a great mentor and motivator but even more so, thanks for being such a great friend! The best of luck in all that you do, you have definitely set yourself up for a long life of success and happiness! Keep on dancin' homie! ~ Ryan
Congratulations on your success at one of the biggest endeavours of your life - a 5-year, independent research project! It's not easy to overcome the barriers of self-learning new concepts or getting over the many hurdles that science inevitably throws at you. However, what's more is that you have been such a light in the lab since I started last September, and presumably for much longer than that! It's obvious that in many ways, you are the glue that brings your colleagues closer together and that is a very valuable skill. Science, in many ways, can be taught, but that kind of caring and enthusiasm cannot. We are all lucky that you have chosen to take on a post-doc that keeps you close to home but regardless of where you end up in the future, you will undoubtedly make an exceptionally wonderful professional AND social contribution to their team! Thank you for being an inspiration and best of luck in the future. ~Chelsea
Year after year, You filled the lab with cheer, Never showing fear, You make a great reindeer!
