5: We left home for Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS on the evening of Friday, July 16, 2010. We were scheduled to be induced at 9:00 p.m. and spend the night in the hospital getting ready for Cohen's arrival. Dr. Dickson scheduled the induction three days before my due date because Cohen was already measuring very large (his abdominal measurement was off the charts!) and I wasn't showing any signs of going into labor on my own. She was also going to be the doctor on-call on July 17, which was the day Cohen would be born.
7: Cohen arrived at 2:22 pm via C-Section on July 17, 2010 He was 9 lbs 4 oz and 20.25 inches long
13: Finally going home Tuesday, July 20, 2010
16: Home Sweet Home
17: Your first bath was | Grandma Penner spent a few days with us after bringing Cohen home from the hospital. She helped us give Cohen his first bath, cooked fabulous meals, and even cleaned for us! She was going to wait to come until we had been home for one night by ourselves, but just after walking in the door Cohen spit up four times, I got scared, and called her to come a day early. She was happy to help and love on her newest grandson. Having an experienced mother around calmed my nerves!
18: Cohen's Papa Liebelt brought his camper and parked it at Melvern Lake while he visited us in the hospital and later on at home. Mimi and Lexi soon joined him and were able to meet the newest family member. One of our first little outings (besides to the hospital for check-ups) was to the Turkey Point campground where they had set up camp. Papa and Mimi spoiled us, as usual, and we were glad they could spend time with us.
23: 3 weeks old - first time to church
24: August 2010
29: Cohen's first Osage City High School football game to cheer for Daddy's team. | There's Daddy!
30: After 8 weeks at home with Cohen it was time for me to go back to work. September 14, 2010 was a big day for both of us, as it was also Cohen's first day at daycare.
32: September 2010
33: When Cohen was 2 months old he got sick for the first time. The first two times we brought him to the doctor they couldn't find anything wrong and wrote it off as his first cold. Finally, after a call from Dr. Reynolds, we took him to the ER at Stormont Vail, where he had all kinds of tests done on him. They found he had a bad ear infection that caused his ear drum to perforate. After a week of being in terrible pain Cohen almost immediately perked up in the ER. He didn't even cry for his IV!
34: Since Cohen was so young the doctors wanted to keep him overnight in the hospital to make sure nothing else was wrong. We spent the night in his room on the pediatrics floor, and thankfully were released the next day.

67: The doctor was concerned about pneumonia since you were having a hard time breathing. It turns out you had RSV and Bronchiolitis instead. A couple days in the hospital with breathing treatments helped you to feel good enough to go back home. At 6 months old you had already had 2 hospital stays under your belt!
