FC: Never Break the Rules... | By: Abby Moore
Never Break the Rules... | Dedicated to: Diane Park -for always being there for me through thick and thin. | By: Abby Moore
Diana Jones is a perfect girl who never breaks the rules. She listens to all rumors and is scared of everything. She never likes to take risks and she takes the safe side of all situations.
Tommy Miller likes to have fun and he doesn't care if he gets in trouble. He likes to take risks and he will accept the punishments. He says whatever he does is worth the consequence.
Eliza is best friends with Diana and they will always do everything together. They are in the same class and they share all of their secrets, even the secrets about the graveyard.
Marcus is best friends with Tommy. Marcus doesn't like all the risks Tommy makes and tried to talk him out of is bad decisions, but Marcus is just wasting his breathe by doing that.
Everyday, the four friends would go to the local park in their neighborhood every summer afternoon. One problem, the park is right next to the "haunted" graveyard.
Diana and Eliza liked to play on the swings the best because that was on the other side of the playground which was away from the graveyard. Nothing in the world would make them go anywhere near that graveyard.
Tommy and Marcus like to throw the football next to the graveyard because they don't think anything is wrong with it. They like to make fun of the girls because they are afraid of it.
Tommy and Marcus always invite the girls to throw the football with them but of course their answer is always, no. Whenever the boys ask, they just laugh because they already know the answer. | Hey, come on over and play with us!
There are rumors that say the graveyard gets locked up at night. No one is aloud to go in, and whoever goes in before it gets locked, doesn't get out. They would be stuck in there for the night. | KEEP OUT!
People say that during the night there are shadows roaming around everywhere, even if no one is in the graveyard. All the shadows look realistic; they look a little bit like...ghosts.
The wind is always blowing and howling, even if it's not blowing outside the haunted walls of the graveyard. There are rustling in the trees and bushes everywhere you turn.
Those are the reasons why Diana and Eliza don't like the graveyard. Even if they are in broad daylight, they still don't like to step anywhere close to it. That is why they stay as close to the far end of the playground as they can.
The boys don't like to listen to all of those rumors. They don't believe in ghosts and they never will. That is why they like to stay close to the graveyard and fool around whenever they are near it and they like to make jokes about it.
One dark, cloudy day the boys were throwing the football as usual and the girls were on the swings. Tommy tried one more time and called the girls over to play with them. | Come on over and play with us!
The girls surprisingly accepted because they got tired of them constantly asking them. So they slowly walked over the the boys near the graveyard as they were scared out of their mind.
As they were playing the girls were carefully and softly throwing the ball because they did not want to risk it going over the graveyard walls. Obviously the boys didn't care how hard they threw it.
Tommy, as usual, was fooling around and he went to the far end of the park. He had the football and he took a big step. He threw the ball as hard and as far as he possibly could.
The ball flew across the playground right over the gray, dark walls of the graveyard. The four kids just stood there in shock, not knowing what to do or how to react next.
There was a sudden burst of laughter. Diana, Eliza, and Marcus turned around and there was Tommy rolling on the ground full of laughter. As he calmed down, he ran right into the graveyard to go get the football. | I'll be right back!
About two hours later, Tommy was still in the graveyard and it was starting to get dark. Diana started to worry about him so she walked right into the graveyard full of fear.
As Diana walked in, the old, rusted gates slammed shut loudly. About ten steps in, she heard footsteps following her. She wanted to run away as fast as she could, but at the same time she didn't want to move a muscle.
Someone jumped up screaming in front of her face. She screamed and hid her face in her hands. She was about to cry but Tommy stood before her and started laughing.
Diana was freaking out and was very scared. She was tired, cold, and worried she would never get out. While she was trying to think of a plan, Tommy was still laughing about his little prank he pulled.
All the rumors that the kids heard appeared to be right. There was constant rustling in the trees and bushes...
...wind howling that sounded like a wolf...
...shadows passing them wherever they turned, even though there was no one else with them...
...and bats were flying out of the trees and in front of the moon...
Diana was running away while Tommy was slowly following her. No matter where they went, the shadows never seemed to leave them alone.
Diana and Tommy didn't know what to do or how to get out. They were getting so frustrated with each other and they couldn't come to a decision, they just started to fight.
All Tommy wanted to do was to walk around and have some fun. He started to walk around to all the graves and tried to see if any ghosts would come out.
Diana yelled at Tommy for fooling around and for throwing the football. She said that if he never fooled around in the first place, they never would've been in the situation they are in right now.
The air started to get thick and foggy. They started to work together and come up with ideas. They found this tree in the corner of the graveyard which they thought might be nice to stay at for the night.
They both got comfortable and started to calm down. They slowly started to doze off under the tree in the foggy air.
When they woke up the next morning, the gate was wide open for anyone to go out or come in. The sun was peeking through the trees and the birds were chirping.
They got up, carefully, left as quickly as possible, and acted as if nothing has ever happened.
 The End.
