Dear Birthparents, Words cannot express the respect and admiration that we have for you and the decision you are making. We know, and are continually learning, that we can never fully understand or imagine the emotions that you are feeling. The more we have learned about open adoption, the more we know it is the right path for us. We live our life with honesty and openness, so we feel strongly that an ongoing connection with the birth family would be the best thing possible for the child, and everyone involved. We believe that the more people involved in the life of a child, the richer it will be. We will truly welcome you and your family into our lives. Our names are Cara, Renee' and Benjamin Groman. Renee' has her Master's degree in social work and works with children in a school setting. Cara has her Bachelor's degree in education and works with adults and children with developmental disabilities. We both value education and will instill this in our children at an early age. Renee' and Cara met six years ago. We realized almost immediately that we had similar interests and had many common goals. We both enjoy traveling, although Cara's idea of traveling is camping and Renee's is the Holiday Inn. We enjoy riding bikes, walking, cook-outs, swimming and spending time with family and friends. Above anything however, we both wanted a family. Renee' went through artificial insemination and we have an amazing four year old son named Benjamin. Due to Renee' having complications during pregnancy and Cara having fertility issues, we are unable to go through artificial insemination again. We do not feel that our family is complete and we have a lot more love to share. We feel that adoption is the right "next step" for our family. We have always valued diversity and
are open to any gender and race. It is important to us that our children accept and respect other people and their cultures. We understand that it may be a concern that we are a same-sex couple. We feel so blessed that supportive friends, workplaces, family and community members surround us. We will work from an early age to teach our children that there are all types of families and no family is better than any other. Our home is filled with the same love, laughter, kindness, joy, hugs, traditions, toys and encouragement as any other house. We live in a neighborhood where the children are called in at night when the streetlights come on. We have a fenced-in backyard with a garden and a large play set. We have a four-bedroom home with a great play room (that's the only part of the house that the kids even notice). We chose this neighborhood as the school district is strong and has received an "excellent" rating. Our house has many "ordinary" things but it is filled with "extraordinary" laughter and love. Both of us plan to take a leave of absence from our jobs when a new baby arrives. Following that, we plan on developing a childcare plan that will work best based on the child's needs. Currently, both sets of grandparents watch Ben one day a week and he attends pre-school the other three days. We are very fortunate to have our families close by and both sides are thrilled at the prospect of a new family member. We are eager to add to our loving family and are grateful for your consideration. We would love to join you on this journey. Warmly, Cara, Renee' and Benjamin
We have a four- bedroom home in a great neighborhood. We spend a lot of time in the fenced backyard playing and having cook-outs. Ben's favorite part of the house is the play room. The schools in our district have received an "excellent" rating. We have a nursery all set to go. We are missing just one little thing....
Cara Cara is caring, warm, loving, patient and intelligent. She loves being in a relationship with Renee' and loves being a Mom. Cara is very close with her parents who live just a few miles away. She has a sister, brother-in-law and two nieces. Their names are McKenna and Riley. She has a close group of friends whom she loves.
Renee' Renee' is loving, responsible, caring and a hard worker. She would do anything for her family. Renee's parents live close and enjoy helping out around our house. She has a brother, sister-in-law and five nephews.

We have a great backyard and these are just some of the activities we enjoy doing as a family. Ben likes to be a part of everything we do, including his very own garden box.
We love to go out and do fun things. We go places such as Imagination Station, Kalahari, the zoo, gym class, Mommy and Me swim class, Cedar Point and different festivals around town.

Thank you for taking the time to look through our book. We wish you peace with your decision and hope to take this next journey in life with you. Cara, Renee' and Ben
