FC: Robert and Shannon
HI!! We are Bob and Shannon and we live in Indiana. We have been married for 14 years. We have a small family farm and are blessed to be the 4th generation of Bob's family to live here. We are grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us. | We believe that you are a hero! Struggling to make such a difficult decision and yet painstakingly reviewing the portfolios of families, making the best choice for you and your baby - you are a model of strength and grace. We appreciate the love and courage it takes for you to travel down the road of adoption. Please know that we offer our sincere support and prayers! You honor us by considering our family, and we are so excited at the prospect of welcoming your precious child into our home. Please continue to learn a little more about us and our family.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS!
We met while attending college, where we both studied agriculture. Indiana natives, our early attraction was bolstered by our shared love of land and community. Bob grew up on a family farm and spent his youth working the land and raising animals. Shannon was an active 4-H member and also raised animals in her youth. Farm life fosters stability and family in a special way. We both feel lucky to have had such an upbringing, which provided us with an appreciation of nature and the benefits of hard work and an active lifestyle.
 OUR STORY
We began trying to conceive shortly after we were married. We always knew that we wanted to have a family. Unfortunately, that road was never easy for us. After a few years of trying, we sought the help of a fertility specialist. They were able to assist us in getting pregnant on three separate occasions over several years. Each time we were so excited, so ready to begin our family! However, each of those pregnancies didn't make it past the 1st trimester. The losses were more devastating each time. Four years ago, we were blessed with the opportunity to assist in raising two teenagers, Shannon's cousin's children. That is when Joshua, now 19, and Jorie, now 17, moved into our home. They were to come live with us for a year, but four years later they are still here and thriving. Joshua is about to embark on college and Jorie is looking forward to her senior year. Raising them has been a joy! With both kids growing up and leaving home in the next few years, we are hoping to open our home and hearts to a precious child. We have so many dreams to share with a child - trips to Disney and other family vacation destinations, 4-H, a rich family heritage... and most of all, unconditional love and support for his/her bright future! | OUR JOURNEY TO ADOPTION
Above is our family as it is today. We have been blessed to have a hand in raising Joshua and Jorie, and to see our family unit grow with their presence in our home. We long to welcome a new child into our home, to become Daddy and Mommy, and to lovingly shepherd that baby from childhood into adulthood.

We love our home!! It is a 100 year old farm house that we remodeled almost entirely ourselves 5 years ago. We are so proud of the comfortable family home it has become. Between the house and barns, there is much room to run and play. We are looking forward to adding a swing set and sandbox. Our town is a wonderful small community! While we live in the country, we are fortunate to be only minutes from town. Our town has well-organized activities for children - little league, basketball, football, martial arts and gymnastics. We look forward to allowing a child to experience any of the activities he/she chooses.
Two years ago we became members of a Christian Church just minutes from our home. It is a large church with lots of activities for families and children. We are pleased to be actively involved in the church community. Some of the members have young children and it will be exciting to raise our families together! We will work to instill the same strong foundation in Christ that we were both given and that we have been able to provide for Jorie and Joshua as well.

I can't possibly say enough about the man I'm lucky enough to call my husband and best friend. One day I turned around in a college class and thought, "Wow!" Sixteen years later I'm still awed by this man. He is funny, quiet, strong, and loving! He works so hard everyday, as a foreman for a large construction firm. Then he comes home and invests time in our farm and our family. No matter how much we have to do, he always finds time to make us all feel loved and special. Seeing him as a father to a little one is my greatest wish. To see him play ball, give tractor rides and just talk to our child would be a dream come true for us. I think that's what I love most about him - that I know he will get down on a child's level and show love by being present in the moment with that child. | Shannon about Bob
I won the lottery when I met Shannon at Purdue University. She means everything to me and is the image of beauty, love, strength, and courage. Shannon works for a brain surgeon and still takes great care of our home, Joshua, Jorie, and me. She is always the first to see that everything is taken care of and in its place. We work together as a team but I am often amazed and very thankful of all the things she does for our family that just goes above and beyond. It has been amazing to see the difference she has made in Joshua and Jorie's lives in just a few short years. She is an amazing mother and I look so forward to raising our child together and giving him or her the best life and future we can possibly give. | Bob about Shannon
