FC: My Narrative By Findlay

1: My Narrative By Findlay Norman sadly strolled along the soft, white sand after a miserable attempt to surf. Norman was a geek, great at anything involving technology and he had a gift for all school subjects, except P.E, obviously. He appreciated his talents but he would give anything to be able to surf or skate or be a popular kid for once. He came across an old cave that had a small, tight entrance. Norman squeezed through the opening and flopped himself onto the ground where he lay and sulked. After a good 20 minutes he sat up and started to walk back to the orphanage where he lived. As he exited the cave he spotted a bright flash of light out of the corner of his eye. He turned around and stuck his arm through a crevice in the wall where he had seen the flash of light. To his surprise he pulled out a small, silver, circular gadget with buttons with all the letters of the English alphabet written on them. A small brown piece of paper fell from the crevice and landed on the ground. As he unraveled it he read the words out loud to himself. SAY ANY PERSON'S NAME AND YOU SHALL SWITCH PLACES WITH THEM. 2: Norman wasn't 100% sure what would happen, but he thought to himself "what the heck" and he said the name of the most popular boy in the orphanage, Dirk Johnson. Norman found himself at the top of a huge half-pipe. He jumped off the top and sped down the steep slope, feeling like he was unstoppable. His now long, blond hair was waving back and forth across his eyes as he pulled off trick after trick on the half-pipe. After 10 minutes Norman said his own name into the small device and he was back to his normal self. That night Norman lay wide awake in his bed as he wondered what he would do with his marvelous discovery. The next day he said goodbye to Norman and said hello to his new self, Dirk. Page 2

3: 20 YEARS LATER Norman sat in his wheel chair in his disgusting apartment. He flicked through the channels on his TV. Norman was shocked to see his old self being interviewed on the daily morning news. " So Norman, how do you feel about inventing the worlds first time travel machine?" Norman was surprised, his old self was a billionaire, he had a lovely wife and 6 children. Norman was in a wheel chair from a surfing accident and would never be able to walk again. He had a low paying job, he was living in a dump and he had no car. He wanted to change back. After a good search in the basement he found his people swapping gadget from all those years ago. He said the name of his old self, but nothing happened. What he did not know was that the device came with a curse. If the user stays as a different person for more than 1 year at a time they will not be able to change to anybody else. Ever again. THE END. MORAL- DON'T TRY TO CHANGE WHO YOU ARE. Page 3
