1: Slavery was originally used in Africa. But these slaves were people who had committed crimes, or people that were captured from war. Eventually people came to Africa and captured many Africans and took them to America. | Africans were also traded. They were traded for many different things such as : rifles, ammunition, tobacco, cotton, sugar, and molasses. This is called the Triangle Trade Route. Because of this at least 10-12 million Africans were traded, sold, and taken into slavery.

2: Conditions in the ship were bad, when all of the slaves where forced down in the bottom there would be no more than a foot of space for every one person to sit. Also there would be people that were vomiting, urinating, defecating from fear and the movement of the ship. The smell was so bad that a lot of them died. | In some parts of Africa the slave trade did not even have an impact. In other places there was war and conflict. When slave raiders attacked small communities they would take healthy young men and women. This caused the communities to fail. Because without strong people there weren't any people to plant and harvest. They also had many other issues with trying to keep their culture alive because of being moved around the world.
