2: He was second of eight children. | He moved to Camden Town, London.

3: Dad went to prison when Charles was 12. | Because his dad went to prison, Charles had to support his family.

4: Charles was forced to leave school to work. | His job was at a boot-blackening factory along the Thames River.

5: "Blacking" is a substance that cleaned fire places. | He was payed 6 shillings at this job.

6: The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club was popular to many readers. | Sketches were more popular than what they were advertising.

7: Publisher of Bentleys Miscellany. | Oliver twist was his first published book.

8: l | Oliver Twist was inspired by how he felt impoverised as a child. | He kept showcasing Oliver Twist in later magazines he edited.

9: His novel, Oliver Twist was well received in England and America. | Dickens published other novels like The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickelby, The Old Curiosity Shop, and Barnaby Rudge.

10: He was married to Kate. | Charles and his wife went on a five month tour of the United States.

11: While on the tour, they left their ten children with friends to look after them. | Dickens wrote, American Notes for General Circulation, a sarcastic travel book criticizing American culture and materialism.
