FC: Stone Circle Book Club celebrating 20 years
1: A group of us started this book club in 1992...we had a yearning to read books and have someone to talk to about them. Stone Circle Book Club was born. We are a book club, a woman's group, a support group, but best of all we are friends.

33: Mairi's Raisen Pecan Bread raisens 2 cups raisens (or cranraisens) 2/3 cup water Soak the raisens for 30 minutes,drain, save liquid for bread sponge mix 2 cups bread flour 1tsp instant yeast 2 cups water (includes liquid from raisens) 2 Tbsp malt powder or honey or sugar mix sponge ingredients together and whisk or process at high speed for two minutes. set aside and cover with plastic wrap.

53: Forty Rules of Love (2010?) Nicole's Turkish Red Lentil Soup 10-12 cups beef stock or water 3 cups red lentils, rinsed 3 tsp salt 2 cups onions, chopped 1/2 cup olive oil 1 cup bulgur 1 Tbsp fresh ground black pepper 1 tsp cayenne pepper or to taste 1 Tbsp ground cumin 4 tomatoes, chopped 6 ounces tomato paste 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped 4 cups chicken broth 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice yogurt, for garnish In a large pot, bring to a boil 10-12 cups of water or stock, add lentils,2 tsp salt. In a frying pan heat oil over medium heat, add onions, 1 tsp salt, cover and reduce to low. Then after five minutes add bulgur, pepper, cayenne, and cumin; stir until lightly browned. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, and 4 cups chicken broth; bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Pour contents of second pan into large soup pot with the lentils, cover and simmer until the bulgur and the lentils are soft, another 40 minutes. To serve, stir in lemon juice and add a dollop of yogurt.
