1: The lo | The lobby at the Roosevelt Home of the first Academy Awards | Day one | The Roosevelt Hotel is a historic Spanish-style hotel located at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Named after Theodore Roosevelt and financed by a group including Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford and Louis B. Mayer, it first opened its doors on May 15, 1927.

8: Outside Grauman's looking towards Roosevelt across the street | Clark Gable | Dear Doug, We stood in the feet of Robert Taylor and Barbara Stanwyck | Grauman’s Chinese Theatre opened May 18, 1927 and premiered Cecil B. DeMille's “The King of Kings,” It cost $2,000,000 and took 18 months to build. Authorization had to be obtained from the U.S. government to import temple bells, pagodas, stone Heaven Dogs and other artifacts from China.

15: El Capitan, opened as a legitimate theater in 1926. For a decade it presented lover 120 live productions. In 1941, Citizen Kane had its world premiere there. The building reopened in 1942 as the Hollywood Paramount Theatre. Its inaugural film was the DeMille Technicolor feature Reap the Wild Wind.

21: Closing Night film was the restored Metropolis - released in 1927 is the most influential Sci Fi film every made. Now missing only 8 minutes, it was accompanied by incredible live music and shown to a packed Grauman's Chinese Theatre group of movie lovers | Sunday afternoon was the Good Earth included a pre-interview with Luise Ranier - incredible at 101 - 3 years, 8 movies and 2 Oscars!
