2: China | The two major rivers running through China are the Yellow river and the Yangtze river. The rivers will flood and leave behind loess which is rich soil. They worked on their land by using flood control and irrigation. Chinas natural barriers are the mountains and deserts. Only about Ten percent of China's land is suitable for farming.
3: In Chinese culture the elder men of the family controlled the families property and made important decisions.Usually in the Chinese writing, each character stands for oner syllable. Most families in China are closely linked the religion.The Chinese saw their country as the center of the civilized world their own name for ZChina is the MIddle Kingdom.Roads and canals were built to stimulate trade and agriculture.
4: The Sumerians were known the have a lot of cultural legacies. Sumerians also believe in many gods which means they are polytheistic. | Sumerians were told to of invented the plow, sail, and the wheel. In Mesopotamia their type of writing was cuneiforms which are wedged-shaped symbols.The Sumerians believed that the souls of the dead went to "Land of the no Return" a gloomy place.
5: Mesopotamia means "Land Between the RIvers" in Greek. This saying refers the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers. | The governments were controlled by temple priest.The Sumerian villages were nearly defenseless | In society the priest ,kings,and landholders were the highest and the slaves were at the bottom of society. | Mesopotamia
6: The Indus Valley is located between the Ganges and the Indus Rivers.This valley is known for their monsoons which are seasonal winds.The Indus region had a strong central government. | The Indus valley had their own sewage system, also they had their own written language in contrast to cuneiform and hieroglyphics. For defense, the valley has the Himalayas which is the worlds largest mountains. These civilizations planned their cities one a grid system. The cities also put the most important buildings in the middle of the city.
7: Majority of the Indus civilization believed in Hinduism.The Indus River provided an excellent means of transportation for trading goods.
8: In Egypt the Nile River provides fertile land.The Nile also flows from South to North.Egypt has pharaohs which rule as kings. | Egyptians use slavery. The surroundings of Egypt is nothing but desert. | After death Egyptians used to put the kings in pyramids also the Egyptians made a better writing surface called papyrus.
9: One of the popular games in Egypt was called senet. | The Egyptians used mummification which is the process of preserving the body for afterlife. | In Egypt the type of writing is called Hieroglyphics, as shown in the picture above.
