FC: Schindler's List By: Thomas Keneally Character Scrapbook
Charming: | Oskar Schindler was a man of great charm. He had a wife and two mistresses that he thought of casually, as to say he was willing to add another to the list if necessary. I used the poodle as a representation because of the way it is described in the text(it being a gift for one of his mistresses). | "-Downstairs, Klonowska was waiting for him, radiant.-" "-She led him to the Adler, which they had let her park inside the gate. Her ridiculous poodle sat on the backseat.-"
Caring: | Oskar, though seemingly cold at times is very caring and merciful to certain people. A slave (Jewish) girl of an incredibly sadistic Commandant had spoke briefly with Oskar in private and asked him to give 4,000 polish zloty to buy her younger sister if she were ever put on the cattle cars. | "-'I have a sister in the camp kitchen,' she said. 'She's younger than I am. I want you to spend this money buying her back if ever she's put on the cattle cars. I believe you often find out about these things beforehand.' 'I'll make it my business,'Schindler told her, but with ease, not like a solemn promise. 'How much is it? '4,000 zloty.' He took it negligently.
Ambitious: | This is a photograph of Oskar Schindler's enamel factory. | "-A tall young man in an expensive overcoat, double breasted dinner jacket beneath it and- in the lapel of the dinner jacket- a large ornamental swastika emerged from a fashionable apartment building in Straszewskiego Street, on the edge of the ancient center of Cracow, and saw his chauffeur waiting with fuming breath by the open door of an enormous and even in this blackened world, lustrous Adler limousine.-"
Nuturing: | The scarlet dress was worn by a little girl seen in a Jewish ghetto by Oskar Schindler and his Polish girlfriend while riding horses through the area. The girl was young he presumed, maybe 8 years old. He was appalled by the fact that the SS men and other Jewish people were allowing such a young girl see people around her being murdered, without even attempting to shield her. | "-His eyes slewed up Krakusa to the scarlet child. They were doing it in front of 'her'; they hadn't waited for her to turn out of sight into Jozenfinska.-" "-While the scarlet girl stopped in her column to watch, they shot a woman in the neck, and one of them, when the boy slid down the wall whimpering, jammed a boot down on his head as if to hold it still and put the barrel against the back of his neck-the recommended SS stance- and fired.-"
Risk-taker: | The black-jack cards represent a point in the story where Okar plays a game of black jack against SS commandant Amon Goeth to 'win' a Jewish girl as a worker in his factory. Though the risk was there, Oskar knew that if he didn't take the chance, she would definantly be sentenced to damnation.
