I am a former member of Nicks social club at Yale. I am Daisy's arrogant husband. I'm trying to interest the others in a book called "The Rise of the Colored Empires" by a man named Goddard. The book espouses racist, white-supremacist attitudes that I seem to find convincing. Daisy also teases me about the book. | While Daisy is teasing me she gets interrupted cause the phone rang and it was for me so i went to go get the phone and Daisy followed me and Jordan tells me that its my lover from New York. After an awkward dinner Jordan says that she is going to bed because she has a big tennis tournament and as Nick was leaving Daisy and I try to get him to date her. | Chapter 1
This chapter is about my affair with Mrs. Myrtle Wilson.Nick has followed me into a disgruntled place after i made him move from his train seat. I have decided it is now time for him to meet "his girl." His girl, the somewhat chubby, but still intriguing, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson tricked Wilson and ordered Myrtle to follow him to the train. I took Nick and Myrtle to New York City, to the Morning Side Heights apartment I keeps for his affair. | Here we have an impromptu party with Myrtles sister, Catherine. At the party Myrtle begins to talk about Daisy. I clearly warned her never to mention my wife. Myrtle angrily says that she will talk about whatever she chooses and begins chanting Daisy's name. I responded by breaking her nose, bringing the party to an abrupt halt. | Chapter 2
I think one of the reasons that Gatsby has become so famous around New York is that he throws big parties every weekend at his mansion. Gatsby's party is almost unbelievably luxurious. I noticed that Gatsby keeps himself from the party, and he doesn't drink the alcohol that he serves. He just watches as everyone is talking, and having a good time. | Chapter 3 | Nick decides to follow the advice that Daisy and I gave to him and begins seeing Jordan Baker because his last relationship with a girl from Jersey city didn't turn out well. He always had a problem with girls, so I decided to try and help him this time. He says that Jordan is just a dishonest person; he even knows that she cheated in her first golf tournament.
Everybody is acting suspicious about Gatsby. Nick was riding through town with him and he got pulled over, but when the policeman came up, Gatsby showed him a white card and the policeman apologized to Gatsby. Weirdly he is getting really suspicious to me also. Maybe I should keep my eyes open! | Nick told me that Gatsby took him out to lunch, and he said it seemed really weird. He told me he met a guy named Meyer Wolfshiem. Apparently he thinks that Gatsby has ties with him in a bad crime. Maybe he's what everyones been talking about? Nick also told me after lunch he sees Jordan Baker, and they talk about what she and Gatsby talked about but he wouldn't tell me what was said? I wonder if they are hiding something from me. | Chapter 4
Daisy's been acting very weird lately. She's been going places without telling me, and it's beginning to worry me. But maybe she just needs her space? I'm thinking maybe I should ask her..?But I'm afraid she will think I'm getting too controlling. Maybe i should just ask Nick, he seems to know a lot about her lately. | Daisy left again this evening. Once again, she didn't tell me where she was going. I feel as if she is hiding something from me. It's becoming unfair to me... We never spend time together anymore. I really am beginning to wonder where she is going...??? I asked her where she was going, and she just told me she wanted me to stay home and she would see me when she returned. | Chapter 5
Chapter 6 | Gatsby got interviewed by a reporter today, I guess the news got around about him being suspicious. I stopped by his house today to have a drink with Mr. and Mrs. Sloane, and i seen Nick. He showed up a little while after we did. He seemed shocked to see me? Gatsby seemed nervous and agitated but he told me he knows Daisy? | Daisy finally told me where she had been going. Gatsby's. Weirdly, alone. I've noticed her visits to Gatsby's has become a habit. Being nice, I went with Daisy to Gatsby's party. I didn't really have an interest in the party, I just kept my eyes on Daisy. She seemed like she wasn't having a good time either, and I'm sure other people noticed.
Chapter 7 | I heard Gatsby has been firing all of his servants, not sure why... but he has. He hasn't been having many parties anymore either... A shift in his lifestyle? Daisy didn't say anything to me when i asked her, she just looked at me. Not sure how I'm supposed to be feeling right now.. Maybe things will turn out good. I'm really thinking about leaning on Nick for some details. | Daisy invited guests to come over to the house today for lunch, i didn't know who until they got there. I was on the phone talking to someone about selling my car when they arrived. I hung up the phone, and went into the next room to fix drinks. When i came in the room where our guests were, Gatsby Nick and Jordan were all waiting with Daisy. There was a big tension in the room, not sure what i missed?
The leaves are starting to fall from the trees, I've noticed. Daisy's keeping to herself again, as if she's depressed. She went to sleep early tonight, before i could ask her whats been going on. The night's dark, all the lights are off at Gatsby's. I thought maybe thats what's wrong with Daisy, maybe it made her worry, but then again.. I guess he's ok. | The night feels so dark, and lonely. I miss spending time with Daisy. Maybe i should start talking to her more. Maybe a time away from all of this will help clear the air, I really don't know where to go though. I will talk to Daisy when she wakes up in the morning. Hopefully she will think this is a good idea too. | Chapter 8
Me and Daisy left and went to New York today. I guess since my journal won't say anything, I can tell you why. We fled EastEgg so i could keep Daisy safe. I told Wilson that Gatsby ran over Myrtle, to save mine and Daisy's life. Then Wilson went to Gatsby's and killed him, then he turned the gun on himself. | I ran into Nick, or for say, he ran into me. He blamed me for Gatsby's death, because I gave Wilson, Gatsby's name. I guess Nick understood me after i told him it would of been me and his cousin who he loves dearly Daisy, instead of Gatsby, had i not said his name. | Chapter 9
