FC: Hawaiian Vacation 2010
We had a wonderful vacation in Hawaii! We spent three days in Honolulu, and then took a 7 day cruise that spent 2 days in Maui, 2 days in Kauai, and 2 days on the Big Island. Then we went to the North Shore in Oahu for our last two days after the cruise.. We stayed at Hyatt Resort at Waikiki Beach Nick's parents joined us on vacation, and they stayed at Marriott Resort at Waikiki Beach.
We spent our first day in Hawaii on Kailua Beach. Nick took windsurfing lessons, while Tammy relaxed and worked on her tan! | Oahu
There was a fair amount of falling, but Nick got the hang of it after a few hours! | Looks like a pro!
We started our second day in Hawaii with a hike to the top of Koko Crater
This was quite a workout! We climbed 1048 steps to the top! Railroad ties were laid down as part of an incline tram system during WW2 | Views were amazing from the top! | V e r y s t e e p
We spent the afternoon at Hanauma Bay A little beach time, and a little snorkeling

Pride of America is a beautiful ship! | We had an outside room with an obstructed view (which explains the lifeboat in the window!) | The Cruise Begins . . .
 Pride of America
Dinner at Teppanyaki | Most of what you see here is Tammy's dinner!

On our second day in Maui we rode bikes down Haleakala Volcano
Kona | There were about a dozen whales around our boat. Nick got of picture of this one as it passed under our boat!
In Kona we took an adventurous ride on a really fast ride zodiac boat out to the Captain Cook Monument where we snorkeled. The water was so clear, you could see down 100'
 Breakfast on the ship
The Kalalua Trail is one of the top ten most scenic hikes in the world and we agree. It was the most beautiful and challenging trail we've ever experienced! We hiked 2 miles to the Hanakapi'ai Beach, and then another 2 miles to the waterfall, and then back - 8 miles total - it took 6 hours | Kauai
This was our reward for the long hike!
The ship sailed slowly along the Napali coastline. It was beautiful!
Our second day in Kauai we went power hang gliding. There's nothing like that view from the sky, but you're not too far up so you can still see the detail of the ground!
Nick's parents went hang gliding too! | Smooth Landing!
 Napali Coastline
We spent our last day in Hawaii in North Shore at Turtle Bay Resort

This was a big turtle! | This monk seal came right up on the beach at Turtle Bay resort for a little sun!
What a perfect way to end a vacation! We spent all day snorkeling and relaxing on the beach
