In the last decade of his life he moved to New York with his third wife. They loved to travel together and he continued his true passion in life as he wrote many more intense novels.

4: La Paz | La Paz, Mexico was a place of great distinction. You were always able to know what society people belonged to. The doctor was defined by his wealth and well know for it. While Kino and his people were very mistreated in this time. They were not given the priveledges and benefits as the doctors people. Most of the time they weren't even acknowledged for the things they did or achieved.

They come upon a scorpion and noticed that the baby was teasing it. As they try and capture the animal it lifts its tail and stings the baby on his shoulder. In a state of shock Kino and Juana decide to go and see the doctor, Juana is instinctively sucking the venom out of him. When they arrive at the doctor they are greeted by a servant at the gate. After they tell him why they are here he goes back inside and tells the doctor. Because the doctor is a bitter and self-serving man he refuses to see the patient because they can't pay. The servant goes and tells Kino leaving him angry and ashamed.

9: Chapter Two After leaving the doctors house they head to the beach to hopefully come upon a miracle. They get into the canoe that Kino's grandfather had passed down to him and set off to the sea. After searching for a while KIno comes back up to the boat with a large pile of oysters and scatters through them. He later comes to one that appears to be perfect. He opens it and sure enough it holds the best pearl that the world has seen. In their excitement the other boaters are curious as to what is happening and rush over to see the news.

10: Chapter Three Fascinated by how fast news can travel they return to the town. Everyone is hovered around them asking what their future holds. Kino looks into the Pearl and lists off things he sees for this families future. Now knowing of their wealth the doctor is quick to treat Coyotito. However instead of curing the baby he gave him medicine to make him throw up to where he would have to treat him again.

11: Chapter Four The next day they wake up and go to see the pearl dealers to see what they have to offer. When they arrive they each give a very low amount on the pearl. Upset with the outcome they head back home with a sick and angry feeling within them. Kino purposes that they go to the city to see what they would give him. Juana instinctively agreeing says that sounds good. However she later purposes that Kino throw the pearl back into the ocean to get rid of all their troubles. Kino is incredibly angry with the idea and leaves her in hurry.

12: Chapter Five As the night continues Kino is awakened by a noise. He finds out that it is Juana leaving the house headed towards the beach. Kino instantly knows what she is doing and follows her out there. As she is about to throw the pearl back in the ocean Kino grabs the pearl from her quickly and aggressively. As they return to the beach the next morning they find that the canoe had been destroyed along with their house. Living in terror Kino and Juana make a decision to escape.

13: Chapter Six As they continue to escape, Kino and Juana realize they are being followed by three trackers. One night as Kino tries to get rid of them he immediately kills two of them. However the third thinks that he hears a coyote and shoots the gun up to the noise shooting Coyotito. After the baby has died Kino and Juana head back to the ocean. Realizing all the damage the pearl has cost them. They then decide to throw the pearl back into the ocean.

14: MORAL OF THE PEARL I believe that the moral of this story is; its not what you have or what you can do with your money that makes you happy. However, it is having people who love you through everything life throws at you and going threw them together as who you are.
