S: Boy Oh Boy!

FC: Grant James Metcalf | I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

1: Always kiss your children goodnight - even if they're already asleep. | Born: December 8, 2010 Time: 2:07 AM Where: Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus OH length: 19 1/4 inches Weight: 7 lbs 3 oz. Who Delivered you: Dr. Melillo and nurse Kathy O.

2: When I found out I was pregnant with you, I made an I love daddy onsie with a card that said: | ... and baby makes three. Guess what? If you haven't guessed already... you are going to be a daddy, and a great father! I took my first pregnancy test on March24th and my second on March 26th and not surprising, they were both positive. I didn't want to tell you until I knew for sure. I hope you are ready for a ride: new house, pregnant wife! Hopefully, if all is well we will have a bundle of joy in 9 months. It truly is a miracle from God! ... and you were a bundle of joy.

3: On my due date I wrote a letter to you and this is what it said: December 6, 2010 Dear Baby Metcalf, Today is your due date and you are still inside mommy's belly. I thought since I did not get to meet you today that I would write you a letter to tell you about our connection for the last 9 months. Your daddy and I just got back from wickliffe, which is 2 1/2 hours north of Columbus. We were there for your great-grandmother's (Grandma Seymour's) funeral. She told me at my baby shower that she was holding on so that she could see you, but unfortunately she did not get to see you. She had a huge smile on her face when she talked about you. She had nine children of her own and absolutely loved babies! I knew I was pregnant right away with you, I just felt different! In the beginning, I felt nauseous, but every day was worth it. I recovered from the morning sickness and then you began to grow and grow and GROW! During the second trimester, you rolled and stretched and kicked in mommy's belly. As you grew bigger, you had less room. Most of the movements that I felt recently were hiccups and your cute little butt rolling back and forth. People frequently told me that I wasn't that big, but I know that you are going to be a healthy size! I can feel you growing every day. You already got to do so many neat things these last nine months. you were with mommy when she ran two half marathons, one in Pittsburgh and one in Columbus. You went to two different countries. You went to Toronto, Canada with Gramma Gale, Cassie, Aunt Pat, and Jessica where you heard "The Jersey Boys and Second City. You also went to Honduras with Grandma Rebecca. We met your Aunt Joy, Uncle Ben, Grandpa Trent and Grandma Alice there. We stayed at a very nice resort and I ate lots and lots of fruit! I also went swimming in the ocean with you. Daddy and I went snorkeling with you and I though so much about you. I was in this vast body of water, seeing so many things for the first time... fish, coral, plants. I tried to imagine what you saw in my belly and what you felt. Everything so new, bright, and probably a little scary and exciting. I hope you come very soon! Daddy and I love you very much. Mommy
