Father has been arrested. The entire family was depressed. Parvana went to the market to get food because the family had run out. When she is there Parvana runs to Mrs. Weera. Mrs. Weera came to live with the family and she has a plan to get the family back on their feet... | This is a prison in Afghanistan.
Kaseem. Father's "cousin" that is watching stand while father was away. So that was Mrs. Weera's plan, turn Parvana into a boy. They cut off her hair and dressed in Hossain's clothes she didn't like it at first but she had to do it to keep her family alive. | This is young boy living in Afghanistan.
In the end two men find father outside the jail and bring him home. 6: The most important part of The Breadwinner is when Mrs Weera comes to live in the house. She helps get the family back on their feet. She also helps them get Parvana a job for the family. | This is what I imagine Parvana's home looks like.
Nooria's getting married. This event really interested me because Nooria is such an independent women. Then the author explains that she is just doing this for her own education and freedom. The entire education would have been paid for also. | This is a picture of an Afghan Wedding
The scariest passage in the story is when Parvana meets Homa. She tells Parvana that she had escaped from Mazar after the Taliban had took over. This is frightening to Parvana because her entire family is headed there. If she looses her family in Mazar, she has no one. | This is the city of Mazar when the taliban attacked.
In Parvana's Journey I predict that Parvana and Father will go to Mazar to find their family. I also think that mother will have been arresdted for not having a man at her side. | Parvana's Journey Deborah Ellis
