1: It all started with my first journey into the Ecuadorian cloudforest in June 2010. The group above is Miquel, Ana, Sandra, a student and me taking measurements for the UN REDD program (measuring how much carbon the forest can absorb). It was HARD work and I loved every minute of it.. It was during this trip and this particular work that I knew I had to do my part to save this precious place. and so the journey began...

4: Ecuadorian forests are filled with amazing beauty.

8: sometimes a burst of light comes from a flower or gentle lights shines on a leaf

9: Cock of the Rock | Toucan | Beryl-Spangled Tananger | and the birds have so much personality...

10: so we work to protect this place and these are the people who make it all happen | the Mariscal family and us; the group at Cambugan; me with Sarah and Freeda

12: The Cambugan Foundation Greenhouse | providing endemic plants to local people

13: Cambugan Foundation is teaching local children about recycling, composting, reforestation and taking care of our environment.

14: Ana presents to a local community. 150 people showed up to talk about re-foresting their land.
