FC: Changes and challenges

My name is Jeremy Zoghaib. I am 11 years old and my date of birth is the 30th of May, 2000. I like playing NRL and basketball and watching WWE. I was born in Australia, but my background is Lebanese. I have been to Lebanon, Queensland and Melbourne. I have two brothers. Their names are Jason and Johnathon. Jason is eight years old and Johnathon is five years old. I have many cousins. My best friend's name is Mitchell Ayoub. We get along because we have similar interests. I value my education and my health. I believe education is important because it controls your future. I value my health because I want to live a long life. I am christian. I believe in Jesus Christ. He created me and put me on this planet.

One positive challenge I faced this year was trying out for the school basketball team and not being selected. I understood that I need to improve on my skills and technique. I am training harder now. | Another positive challenge I faced this year was on the first day of school. I was nervous about losing my books, not being on time to class and getting bullied by older students. As soon as a few weeks went by, I felt comfortable with my new school environment. | A negative challenge I am facing is the amount of homework and assignments. Unlike primary school where I was used to getting one assignment per month, I am now getting five assignments on average every month. In order to conquer this challenge I am starting my assignments early so I have time to do them all. Another negative challenge I am facing is travelling between the new and old buildings and making sure I get to class on time. I aim to meet this challenge by being more organised and packing up earlier.

Five coping strategies to give a Year 6 student coming to high school are: 1) Always be organised because high school is totally different to primary. 2) Get to your locker as soon as possible to avoid the rush. 3) Try not to be absent at school because you will need to catch up on a lot of work. 4) Never be afraid to tell a teacher if someone is bullying you. 5) In class never hesitate to ask a teacher a question because it will help you with tests and assignments. Five support services are: 1) Teacher because they are very experienced and can help with any problems you may have. 2) The internet because of all the wide variety of information that can be help with school work. 3) The library has many variety of books that can lead to success in schoolwork and assignments. 4) Parents help with personal and privacy issues. 5) School councilor is experienced with dealing with friendships and stressful problems.

Two short term goals: 1) To make a representative sports team. 2) To get a good grade in all my subjects. One intermediate goal: 1) To have all my peers and teachers see me as a kind respectful and well behaved student. Two long term goals: 1) To try not to get 5 or more bad notes in my diary by the end of the year. 2) try to get more A's in my report than I did last year.

One change i expect to have to deal with in the next five years is trying to be organized and get my homework and assignments on time. I will be in year 12 in the next five years so I will be studying hard and trying to get higher than a band 80 in the hsc. I will be witting in my diary 24\7 a day. Also I will finish my assignments as quick as possible, so i can hand it in or I can present it early. I should start thinking on what subjects to learn and to study in year 9 till year 12 .
