2: -It lies between to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. -The government is priests who hears from the gods. -Mesopotamia used stuff like wheel and sail to make transportation easier and plows for farming. | -Mesopotamia's religion is polytheistic which means many gods. -Cuneiform is the language they write. -They used Hammurabi's code which was 285 laws that were mostly "eye for an eye". -Sumeria and Babylon were the city states and they was always at war.

3: -When there rivers flood they would produce silt which was dark, rich, soil. -Mesopotamia is located in present day Iraq. -Sumer created 60 second unit, used today for time.

4: -The Nile river provides fertile land and when the river floods it provides silt. -Pharaoh's rule as kings in there government, they are also seen as a god. -The sun god is the most important. | -They use papyrus as paper and write in hieroglyphics, also they use pyramids to bury there Pharaoh's. -Egypt was divided into upper and lower kingdoms until united at 3000 B.C. -People there believe in afterlife so they use mummification to preserve the body. -The Nile river is one of the few rivers that flows south to north.

5: -Egypt has a hot/dry climate. -There are six steps to mummify a body. -It takes 70 days for a body to become a mummy.

6: -Indus valley is between Indus and Ganges river. -Indus has a strong central government. -They have not yet deciphered the Indus form of writing. | -As with other cultures, the rulers of the harappan civilization are believed to have close ties religion. -The housing suggests that social decisions in the society were not great. -Monsoons are seasonal winds that bring rain or dry air dominate Indus climate. -Indus is a subcontinent that the rives there do flood and sometimes change course.

7: -The Himalayas Mountain range is to the north. -Indus cities are planned on a grid system. -Major buildings are in the center so that the attackers do not attack.

8: -It is between the Yellow and Yangtze rivers. -The government was mandate of heaven which was a ruler who had approval. -They have flood control and irrigation, wooden buildings, and written language. | -There religion is feudaliam which means king gives noble, noble gives military service for the king. -Family is central, ancestors bring blessings or curses. -The Yellow river got its names from when it floods loess is left behind. -The Himalaya Mountains are to the south and Gobi desert to the north.

9: -China works with bronze and iron, silk, roads and canals. -The most important virtue in a family is to have respect for ones parents. -Social classes were divided between nobles and peasants.
