FC: Sophia Afton Reeder | Baby's First Year
A new baby is like the beginning of all things, hope, a dream of possibilities.
 1st month
Sophia's first month was full of late nights, nursing, pooping, sleeping, cute newborn cries, baths, snuggling and getting lots of love and attention from her Mom and Dad. Sophia was given a blessing by her Daddy on September 4, 2011. What a great first month!
 2nd month
Sophie's second month was full of late nights, but not quite as many. Spit bubbles, smiles, lots of cooing, which we can't get enough of! Gazes, naps, nursing, grunts, grabbing onto anything in sight... fingers, hair, chins, necklaces etc...she has quite the grip.At her two month check up she now weighs 11 pounds 7 ounces and is 23 inches long! It seems not so long ago we were just holding our newborn, time is going by so fast.
 3rd month
Sophie's third month was full of lots of smiles, coos, grunts, wiggling, drooling, spit bubbles, discovering her toes and feet, little giggles, sleeping through the night for the first time consecutively! First Halloween, gripping everything in sight, recognizing herself in the mirror, meeting cousins, sitting up while in the boppy pillow, being snuggled by Grandparents and Great-Grandma Hansen. We are so in love with our sweet Sophia and are looking forward to the holidays especially because we get to share them with our little girl!
 4th month
Sophia's fourth month was full of lots of smiles, reaching for her toys and examining/playing with them, her favorite being her feet and hands, chewing on everything in sight including her big toe, giggles, spit bubbles, sitting up, cooing, squeaks, grunts and making every sound imaginable! Sophie had her first Thanksgiving and first Reeder and Groberg family Christmas parties. She now weighs 14.4 pounds and is 25 inches tall! We love our little sweetie so much!

Sophie's fifth month was full of lots of giggles, cooing, reaching out for everything, rolling over, gnawing on everything, turning herself in a complete circle, actually enjoying some belly time and sitting up on her own! She has now eaten...(or played with) sweet potatoes, carrots and rice cereal, sweet potatoes being her favorite by far! Sophie had her first Christmas and New Years and she was full of wonder when it snowed the first time. She got to see the lights on temple square with cousins. We love our little Sophie bug so much!
 6th month

She now weighs 17.3 pounds and is 26 inches long. She has decided that she doesn't like to sleep, which means lots of extra snuggles for Mom! Sophia also likes to reach for things while on her belly and lunge forward to get to her favorite toys. Sophia enjoyed her very first Valentines Day, by making daddy a valentine! People keep telling us "she is such a happy baby!" which melts my heart because we love her so much and we couldn't want for anything else than for her happiness.
 7 th month
Sophie's seventh month was full of lots of giggles, clapping her hands, wiggles, smiles, eating, getting close to crawling by scooting herself, turning on her belly, rolling back and forth, being stuffy--which resulted in a runny nose, cough, not sleeping very well... and a baby who didn't feel very good. Poor thing. Sophie and I got to visit Grandma in Twin Falls, ID while Matt went on a work trip to Washington D.C. He had a great time at his conference learning and networking but all the real fun went on in Twin Falls, ID. Sophie got to meet up with her cousins, and Aunts for swimming, playing and everything good. We also got to see some friends while we were out and about and even visit Grandma's school and Sophie's Great Grandma's new home. It was a busy month and we are all feeling a little sleep deprived but are thankful for a sweet baby and the 'stuffy nose kit'!
