S: Colorado Trip July 2011
FC: Colorado Trip | July 8-11, 2011 with Erin, Sara, and Shelby
Erin and me plan to take a trip every year or two. We are good traveling friends and each of us love to visit new places around the U.S.A. This was our second trip, Colorado!!!! We stayed with Sara at her house in Colorado Springs. She showed took us to popular attractions plus restaurants and an ice cream place. The weather was great the whole time, except one day it did start raining very hard while we were shopping in Manitou. Overall, it was a great time
Erin and Shelby are heading to Colorado to visit Sara Tisdale!!!
 Denver skyline
Casa Bonita (Mexican Restaurant) Location: Denver
Food, water divers, caves, and gift shop. We met up with Sara's sister and nephew!!!
Erin and Shelby had a lot of fun staying at Sara's house in Colorado Springs. Persephone is such a cute dog and she sure came to us once we were there a few minutes.
 Location: Colorado Springs
Rock climbers were there in action!!! It is amazing the different formations that you see in the rocks!!!! At this place, people walk, run, bike, and enjoy the peaceful nature that surrounds each of us.
It is such beautiful scenery at The Garden of the Gods!!! | Do you see Snoopy, the dog, lying down in the picture below?
After touring The Garden of the Gods, we stopped for lunch and dessert. It was all very yummy; and of course, we tried each others dessert!!!
Royal Gorge Bridge and Park Location: Canon City It is one of the world's highest suspension bridges-hanging 956 feet high and spanning a quarter mile across the canon. It was a little scary thinking you're that high but we all made across on foot and drove across in Sara's car!!!!
Don't look down, oops Shelby is already, so she could get the picture of the river below!!!!
We watched a magic show | At the bottom of the gorge, by the river | We rode the incline railways cart which is one of the world's steepest!!! | Shelby riding the incline railway
Pikes Peak Location: El Paso County Shelby, Erin, and Sara are all ready to ride the cog railway and it is a long ride to the top!!!!
The highest point on Pikes Peak is around 14,000 feet in elevation. It was very windy and cold once we rode to the top on the cog railroad and we got to eat air donuts. Some people do climb the mountain or some do drive as high as the road will allow them.
Queen's Parlour Tea Room. Light Victorian Tea features hot teas and freshly baked scones with Devonshire cream, preserves, and infused butter. Enjoy an assortment of Victorian sandwiches with four homemade spreads, and, of course, a variety of delicious desserts. A lovely luncheon designed for the lighter appetite!!! | Tea Room | 19: Museum (the castle is known to be haunted) 20: These pics are different views in Colorado Springs of a sunset we could see at Sara's house!!! 21: On the left side, are pics when traveling back to Omaha on the plane. We got to have views of really bad flooding that happened. On the right side are souvenirs Shelby bought.
