1: Governments that will be discussed

2: The United States | - Constitution adopted on September 17, 1787 - Federal System - Limited Government - Executive Branch: President directly voted by the people. - Legislative Branch: Made up of elected representatives who's member creates legislation that become laws - Democratic vs. Republicans (vs. Third Parties) - Judicial Branch: Supreme Court; focuses on correcting errors made in lower courts and therefore holds no trials. - Fought for freedom and independence from Great Britain who was oppressing the Colonized Citizens at the time. Founding fathers focused on freedom as the foundation of the country, making the government also based upon those ideals. - Market Economy - Top Imports; Crude Petroleum, Refined Petroleum, Digital Disk Drives - Top exports: Refined Petroleum, Cars, Integrated Circuits, Packaged Medicaments

3: Mexico | - Constitution ratified on September 5, 1917 - Federal Government - Quasi-limited Government - Executive Branch: Holds most of the power in government; president is the paramount institution; the "six-year-monarchy" - Legislative Branch: Bicameral Congress; Upper Chamber (Senate), and lower chamber (Chamber of Deputies) - National Action Party (PAN) vs. Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) vs. Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) - Judicial Branch: Federal and State systems; Supreme Court of Justice, all members appointed by the President. - Many parts of the government are corrupted politically and financially because of the struggle for power within the nation itself. The country is also influenced by drug trafficking which promotes the continued corruption of the government. - Mixed Economy - Top Imports: Cars, Vehicle parts, delivery trucks - Top Exports: Crude Petroleum, Cars, Monitors and Projectors

4: Great Britain | - Foundation and basis for current constitution dates back so far to god knows when - Federal System - Limited Government - Executive Branch: the Crown, Cabinet Ministers, and Public Service - Legislative Branch: House of Representatives Judicial Branch: the Judges and the courts - Labour Party vs. the Conservative Party vs. the Liberal Democrats - For god knows how long, Great Britain has been a government with a Crown. However, adopting to modern times, the Crown holds little to no power over the governmental system and only stands as a figure head. - Mixed Economy - Top Imports: Crude Petroleum, Refined Petroleum, Cars Top Exports: Cars, Refined Petroleum, Packaged Medicaments, Crude Petroleum

5: People's Republic of China | - | - Constitution first declared in 1954 - Unitary Republic system - Limited Government - Executive Branch: 5 year Presidential Terms Legislative Branch: the National People's Congress (NPC); "highest organ of state power" - Kuomintang (KMT) vs. Communist Party of China (CPC) vs. United Front (Democratic Parties) - Judicial Branch: people’s courts, the Supreme People’s Court, the people’s procuratorates, military procuratorates - China has one of the oldest and deepest history in the world, consequently going through multiple stages of government including, but not limited to, feudalism, imperialism, and monarchy. - Mixed Economy - Top Imports: Crude Petroleum, Broadcasting equipment, Telephones - Top Exports: Digital Disk Drives, Broadcasting Equipment, Telephones

6: South Korea | - Constitution promulgated on July 17th, 1948 - Unitary System until 1995; now Federal System divided into provincial, county, and ward - Limited Government - Executive Branch: President who is elected through a national vote - Legislative Branch: the National Assembly, a unicameral legislature made up of 300, 4-year serving members - Judicial Branch: Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, Patent Court, Family Court, Administrative and Local Courts
