S: Seasons of Change
FC: Joel, Becki & Samuel Homan
1: Dear Birthparents, We have no idea how hard this decision is for you, but please know that you are not alone in it. God has been with you every step of the way and will never leave you as you make one of the most important decisions of your life. We applaud you for the choice you have already made to give your unborn child life. As you make the difficult decision of choosing an adoptive family for your child, know that you are loved and you are an amazing person! You are strong and courageous! We have been married for just over six years. Joel is a welder and Becki is a pediatric nurse who chooses to be a stay at home mom. We attend church regularly & often see our church friends socially. We both traveled a lot before we were married and hope to someday show our children many parts of the world that we enjoyed. We both love reading, movies, biking, shopping, the theater, local fairs & art shows, & weekend road trips. Most of all we enjoy spending time together as a family. In June of 2010 we were blessed beyond measure to become parents to our son Samuel through an open adoption. The experience was amazing! He is the sunshine of our lives. We have been hoping to add to our family through the miracle of adoption again. We both had siblings growing up and we would love for Sam to be able to experience all the joys having a brother or sister would bring. We have extended family close by that can't wait to shower another child with love and affection. As you look through these next few pages, we hope you can catch a glimpse of the joy we have as a family. We truly love life and try to make the most of every day we are given. Thanks so much for taking the time to read about us. May God bless you on this journey.
2: From Becki: Wow, where do I start in telling you about my husband & best friend Joel? He is such a loving, compassionate, giving, hardworking, stable, loyal, free spirit. He is a natural with kids & is a favorite with the little ones in our extended families. He is a wonderful Dad & really enjoys spending time with Sam. Joel is totally a hands on Dad. From the beginning he handled his share of the bottles, diapers (even the stinky ones), & bathing. Joel & Sam have such a great time together. I love watching them laughing, reading, wrestling, running around the yard, or just having fun discovering new things together. | Joel at a local park | Joel with newborn Samuel | Joel relaxing at a local arts & antiques festival | Joel & his Mom, enjoying a fall day

4: From Joel: Becki is my best friend. She is thrilled to be able to be a stay at home Mom & can't wait for Sam to be a big brother! Sam & Becki spend their days reading books, singing songs, hanging with family, visiting friends & neighbors, or just plain having a great time in our big yard. Becki has a great sense of humor, is a wonderful cook, a budding gardener, & is learning to sew & quilt. She is kind, patient, creative, a joy to be with, & the life of every party! Sam & I would be lost without her. Becki somehow finds time to volunteer at a local food bank each week & enjoys her monthly book clubs. Sam also likes to swim in our fenced in back yard or swing on our front porch where neighbors always wave hello on their walks. Sam also likes taking walks, music, blocks, cars, going to the library for story time, & trips to the grandparents. 20: After meeting in July 2004 we were married just over a year later. We are so blessed to have found each other & have been inseparable since. We share many of the same interests such as biking, movies, books, antiquing, & travel. Our patience & respect for each other help keep our marriage strong & healthy. No matter what comes our way, we are committed to God first, next each other, then to Samuel. Our faith helps us weather the tough storms & there have been quite a few. Heaven knows there will be more, but together we can take on the world. | Becki & Joel
21: Becoming parents has been the most amazing thing that has ever happened to us. The amount of joy & overwhelming love that caring for a child has brought to us is truly immeasurable. If not for the wonderful gift that adoption is, we would never have known our sweet Samuel. As he grows, we hope Sam will continue to know what a blessing he is to so many people. We can't wait to welcome another child & his or her amazing birthparents into our family. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little. May you find peace & comfort in this important time in your life. Joel, Becki, & Samuel
