S: Cooper- 2 to 3
BC: Presented to Cooper on his 3rd birthday July 7, 2012
It has been so much fun watching you grow this last year. At two, you were not saying too much, but now you are talking all the time. One of my favorite days, was the day you started calling me "Mimi." When you say "Mimi" I just melt. You know your colors and you are counting now. You love to play with our phones, but as you turn three, one of your favorite activities is doing puzzles. I am amazed as I watch you put together a puzzle. Not very many children your age can do the puzzles that you can do. You, also, love to play outside and ride your tricycle. In November Cullen arrived and you became a big brother. You adjusted very well to having a new baby in the house. I think you were more interested in keeping up with Selah and Liam than in having a new baby brother. You love them so much. We love you Cooper and I wish I could keep you two years old, but you must grow up. We look forward to watching you grow and making us smile. We are the luckiest Mimi and Grandad in the whole world. We love you, Mimi and Grandad | Happy 3rd Birthday, Cooper!
 Happy 2nd Birthday!
Aunt Alison was home when we celebrated your birthday. At first, you weren't quite sure about her, but when I wanted to take pictures with Aunt Alison, you jumped up on her lap.
Swim Team Season | You attended every swim meet and many practices. Grandad and I came to as many swim meets as we could and it was our job to keep you occupied.
 In the Baby Pool
Family Vacation with the | Beck Family | Duck, NC
 August, 2011
Looks like you are going to be our next Boogie-Boarder!
Cabin John Park | Late in August you had a sleepover at our house. On the way, we stopped at Cabin John Park. You have no fear on the playground.
Cooper's 1st Day of Preschool | Daddy and I took you to preschool on your first day. You walked in without any problems and went right to the teacher. Daddy and I said good-bye and left. We weren't 10 feet down the hall when we could hear you start crying. When I picked you up at the end of the day you were fine, but it took you several days to settle in.
DC Triathlon | September, 10, 2011 | Your daddy competed in the DC National Triathlon. Grandad and I met everyone downtown at the Smithsonian Metro stop to walk over to the finish line on Ohio Drive. You preferred to walk so it took us a while to make it to the finish line. By the time we got to the finish line, your daddy had already crossed.
 Growing Hope | Walk-a-Thon
King's Dominion | October 2, 2011 | We went to King's Dominion on a chilly, wet day, but we had a great time. While Daddy took Selah on rides and Grandad took Liam, your mommy and I stayed with you. You went from one car ride to another and loved them all. You were so cute "driving" the different cars. | You were too small to see out of this one. | All that "driving" and running from one ride to the next finally wore you out.
Pumpkin Time | It was a very busy October as your mommy and daddy prepared for Cullen's arrival. There was no time to go to the farm to pick out pumpkins. One day when I was at your house helping out, we went to the Trader Joe's "Pumpkin Patch" in their parking lot to pick out some pumpkins for Halloween.
You were "MoMo" (Elmo) this year.
Meadowside Nature Center | Cullen was born on November 3rd. While Mommy and Cullen were in the hospital, you and Selah and Liam spent the night at our house. We went to the Nature Center at Meadowside and then to the King Farm playground before heading over to your house to welcome your mommy home from the hospital. | King Farm Playground
You are a Big Brother now. | You became a Big Brother on November 3rd when Cullen was born. It took a few days before you took an interest in him. We spent a lot of time together during Cullen's first week and you kind of became my boy for a few days. You have a way of wrapping me around your little finger.
This is the first picture of the four of you. You soon started calling Cullen "Cuh-yen".
I love to take fall pictures and jumping in the leaves makes for great pictures. You were having so much fun with Liam, throwing leaves into the air. It takes much longer to get the leaves raked up, but it's worth it when I look at the pictures.
is having a Big Brother to play with.
Thanksgiving was at our house this year. The weather was mild so that we could play outside. We got out the bubbles and bubbled away. Caffrey had a great Thanksgiving, too. She ate the apple pie that I made!
 to decorate at Mimi's
Mimi loves to take pictures with everyone wearing Santa hats. We put the camera on the tripod and set the timer. Everyone takes a turn pushing the button and hurrying back to get in the picture. We always end with "funny face" pictures. Your face is too cute for a "funny face" yet.
 Christmas Eve
 Christmas Morning
National Botanical Gardens | The day after Christmas we went downtown to see the holiday train display at the Botanical Gardens. You were very excited to see all the different trains and trolleys and it was fun for me to watch your excitement. Afterward, we walked up to Capital Hill for lunch. It was a long walk, but you were are real trooper.
 January 2012
Mimi's "Tone" | You love to play Zebra Paint on my phone. You say to me, "Pay Mimi tone?" Since you have me wrapped around your little finger, it's hard for me to say no. Good thing Grandad's boss gave him an iPod Touch so that Liam has something to play games on, too.
Fisher Price People | You love to play with the old Fisher Price people that your daddy and Aunt Alison played with when they were little. You line up the cars and load them up with people. | December, 2011 & February, 2012
These pictures make me think of your daddy when he was two. He loved hats and would use anything to be a hat. His favorite was an ice bucket. We still have that ice bucket. Some day I will show it to you.
 Olde Creek Elementary
March | While Liam was at his Kindermusik class, we played on the playground.
Opening Day | March 31st was Opening Day at the farm. Grandad and I met you there for the fun. Since Easter was close, they had Easter egg hunts for everyone throughout the day. Everyone especially loved all the Peeps "hidden" in the trees.
We hid about 80 eggs in the backyard. You had so much fun.
This spring you learned to ride the tricycle. You loved riding down the sidewalk and around the corner with Ryan, the little boy who lives on the corner. I think it made you feel grown up like Selah and Liam to be able to ride your "bike" with them.
You and Ryan | Time out for a snack of all your favorite berries.
Daddy's cousin, Mike, was in town from California in April. Mike has become a very good amateur photographer. He brought his brand new fancy camera and came to your house to take pictures of you, Selah, Liam and Cullen. These were some of my favorites.
Thank you, Mike. The pictures are beautiful!
Chesapeake Bay Swim June 10, 2012 | It was another HOT one!
Last, but not least. . .
 Mommy & Daddy love you. . .
. . . and so do we! | Happy Birthday, Cooper!
