1: Age is not a destination, it's a journey!
3: Birthday at Fifty (50) Today I turned fifty. I feel really good. My body's still working quite well thanks. (Touch wood!) My hair's not too gray, my wrinkles are few, I can still touch my toes with my knuckles. (Can you?) I'm quite full of vigour, just getting ripe. (But they now print the phone book in much smaller type.) My hearing's still good. What's that you say? Speak clearly, don't mumble, your voice wafts away. Inside this old body I'm still young, but then If life starts at forty, I'm really just ten. ~ Sue Taylor
4: My 50th birthday was my best birthday ever! It was an awesome day for me. I went back to Edmonton so that I could celebrate with my friends. Gregg and I stayed with Steve and Brenda Lewicki, good friends of ours who live in Sherwood Park. They were the most awesome hosts and we loved staying with them - their hospitality made us feel right at home. I was so lucky that my 50th birthday fell on a Saturday so I could celebrate on the actual day. We went to Normand's, a fancy French restaurant in downtown Edmonton, on Jasper Avenue, for dinner with Steve and Brenda Lewicki and Doug and Joan Cramer. It was a fabulous time, and the company and food were divine! Then we were off to Teddy's. We rented the room upstairs for the party, which started at 7:30. I have so many great memories of Teddy's and I love that room - it is spacious with small tables, a little dance floor and a bar, and we had our own bartenders. We could play our own music as well. We had a couple veggie trays and trays of wings and ribs for snacks. Gregg had a cake made at Sobeys and he gave a nice (sniff sniff) speech before I cut the cake, and thanked everyone for coming. Attendees were Steve and Brenda Lewicki; Doug and Joan Cramer; Ron and Vida Mcleod; Ted and Pat Blundell; Aimee Walker and her partner, Rob; Nikki (Aimee's friend) and Nikki's friend; Ken and Brenda Charuk; Bob and Lois Thurston; Ken and Barb Hlus; Aletta Sarrasin; Luiz and Max Da Silva; Doris Temchuk (Max's mom); Parnell Simonson; Robert Fulton (and his friend); Maggie Arsenault; Heather Braams; June Anderson; Liz Collins; Iris Albrecht; and Mary, Bessy and Dorothy - sisters (from Chase). Gifts Received: Steve and Brenda - picture of Whyte Avenue Heather - bottle of wine Maggie - bottle of wine Luiz, Max and Doris - $50.00 Chapters gift card Bob and Lois - Lindt chocolates Robert - Across the Universe DVD Ron and Vida - Callebaut chocolates Ted and Pat - lotto tickets and my Aged to Perfection headband (which I absolutely adore) Aletta (and Leo, who couldn't make the party) - bath salts, reed diffuser, candle and glass triangle-shaped candle holder Ken and Barb - Chambord Liqueur (raspberry liqueur). The evening went by way too fast! Everyone enjoyed themselves and we all had a great time. Steve gave Heather and Maggie a ride home, and after dropping Heather off and arriving at Maggie's place, she invited us in for a nightcap. Steve, Brenda, Gregg and I went in and Maggie showed us around, we had a drink and then headed home to Steve and Brenda's. It was so awesome to see everyone again and I had an absolutely fabulous time! I have so many memories of good times with these friends, and this party will be no exception.

They say that all those candles Would create such a blaze They'd have to come and put it out And stay around for days! So, I guess I'll have to party Without the birthday cake, Perhaps I'll light one candle Just for old time's sake, Those firemen! So fit and strong, Such handsome looking men - Whose birthday is it, anyway? Let's light them all again!
