BC: We love you Elisabeth Mayra

FC: Elisabeth Mayra Powell

We were so excited to finally see this first picture of our baby girl. After months of waiting we got to see your precious face and couldn't wait to hold you in our arms

Meeting Elizabeth Mayra In January of 2007 we traveled to Guatemala City to meet you for the first time! You were 5 months old and the most precious baby we had ever seen. You loved your big brother from the begining and you stole our heats with your sweet smile and wild, crazy hair! We had a great week together with your brother and even your nana got to come!

We had the best time hugging, kissing, and loving you! | Beautiful Baby

 So worth the wait!

We tried to soak in every minute with you and your brother. What great memories we made! At 5 1/2 months you were such a laugher and loved moving around in the walker. And how could we ever forget your wild crazy hair, we had never seen so much hair on a little baby!

I prayed for this child, and the LORD granted me what I asked of him. 1 Samual 1:27 | The miracle of you... As we got the news that we got to go bring Mateo home we were both happy and sad. We were so excited to have your brother home but that meant that we were going to have to leave you again which broke our hearts. Your moms biggest hope and prayer was to have you home before your first birthday, but it seemed impossible. But God had a different plan and showed us his power by giving us a miracle, and doing far more than we asked or imagined. When we got to Guatemala the lawyer handling your case told us your paperwork was done and ready to be submitted to the US embassy. This in and of itself was amazing but it still meant that it could be 3-6 weeks until we had your embassy appointment and we wanted so badly to have you home. Your mom went to the embassy and pleaded with an officer, they said to come back the next day and they would have an answer. It was a long night but when we went back the next day they said our appointment was three days later! God literally moved mountains to get you home. Our God is so great!

Guatemala will always hold such a special place in our hearts. This beautiful country was were God blessed us with you, our precious daughter.

We finally got to get on the plan to head home. And waiting for us were the family that had been praying and waiting for you for over a year. You were loved before they even met you.
