S: Erin's Bachelorette Weekend August 5, 2011
BC: "Sometimes in life there really are bonds formed that can never be broken. Sometimes you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you will find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding. But there's also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime, the one person who knows you sometimes better than you know yourself is the same person who's been standing beside you all along."
FC: Erin Joy Bridgehampton, New York August 2011
It feels like yesterday when we walked into Mrs. LaBranche's fourth grade class,. not knowing what lied ahead of us. We were little girls making up dances to Mariah Carey and talking about our weekly crushes. Seventeen years later I sit here writing a letter to my best friend as we plan her wedding. Where has the time gone? From Riverglades to Douglas to Southgate to Las Olas I couldn't have imagine my life journey without you by my side. You have been the shoulder to cry on, the voice of reason and the person I share every happy moment with. You have always encouraged me to follow my dreams, and focus on the positive, which we know sometimes is hard. Not a day goes by that I don;t hear your voice and I am forever grateful for that. I cannot wait to watch you walk down the aisle. You are going to be the most beautiful bride and I am so honored to be your Maid of Honor. Thanks for the great memories, long talks and laughs. Thanks for being there through the ups and downs. Thanks for being the best friend a girl could ask for. Thanks for being true, and most importantly thanks for always being you! I love you with all my heart!
When I first "sought" you out to be my big sister in DG, I would have never thought (especially me) that I would have gained a real sister for life. I look back at that time exactly 7 years ago and can't believe how much we have been through and how fast time has flown by. When I moved into the cottages at the end of my Freshman year is when we became close and I don't think I left the passenger seat of your Xterra until you graduated 3 years later. I will never forget the day when you stood in the doorway of my bedroom and said Jake told Corey I was cute and little did we both know that they would be our future husbands one day. When we moved into the DG house together (which I would have never done if it wasn't for you), it was by far the best time in all 4 years of college. From driving to power hour at Chubbys listening to 70's music to Mike's Beer Barn drive through to get bower" ade there was literally never a dull moment. When you left FSU to do your intern block is when we began our long distance relationship and now over 4 years later there is not a day that goes by that we don't speak. You have been there for me through so much and I literally don't know what I would do without you sometimes :) Now we celebrating your bachelorette party and I could not be more happy for you and Corey. Although we joke about me being you and Corey's child, you guys really are family to me and I CAN'T WAIT to celebrate your marriage!! Ahhhh!
I cant even put into words how much our friendship means to me but I will do my best here. You are one of the most special people in my life and I don't know where I would be without you and our friendship. We laugh together, cry together, share together, you are my second sister and I will cherish our friendship forever. Remember the night your camera took model pictures, I had to include a pic from that night, now you cant even get it to take one normal one. How about when I worked the door at the Irish Pub and you came in and showed me my ID LOLOL, i think you were even still in high school. I remember the day I visited you and Jodi during rush and you were each sitting in your beds in southgate, and we were talking about DG and I knew you would be a part of my life but I never knew to what extent. Shortly there after you became a member of the chunk family as I knew you would and our relationship only grew from there. You know how much you mean to me I dont have to put it into words. I love you more than words can say and I know we will be in each others lives forever. I cant wait to share in so many more milestones in life and make so many more memories together. I am so happy that you found your love, who knew it would have been the same one you were crying about in your bed in villa san marco.......the most not normal summer of our life......you smoked marlboro menthol lights and Corey had YELLOW highlighter hair LMAO. Although I am far away now, it hasnt changed a thing between us, because no matter where we are , near or far, we will be together always.
It’s funny how life works. How the choices you make, and the chances you take, can truly change the rest of your life forever, which leaves us always thinking what if we chose the other option and why did we choose the option we did? Would life be different? Almost 6 years ago, at a time we were just friends through association, what if we both didn’t decide to stay at spring weekend while everyone else went home? And why was I, unknowingly, part of the master plan to get you and Corey back together? About 5 years later, after a million what ifs and bad choices, this particular what if was answered, when I woke up on June 28, 2010, from your message telling me you were engaged. Erin, there are no words to describe how happy I am for both you and Corey. After all these years, not only have you became a friend I couldn’t imagine living without, but both you and Corey have become my family. For all these reasons I couldn’t be more excited to be here this weekend, almost 6 months from your wedding day, and be part of this special time in your life. Love you lots and lots.
It's amazing how in just four short years you and I have grown a friendship that so many girls yearn for all of their lives. Shortly put you've become my confidant, my "go to" person, my shoulder to cry on, and one of my very best friends who I know I can count on for the rest of my life. It goes without saying that your caring nature and passion to make others happy are some of your best qualities but what really sets you apart from everyone else is your heart full of love that is so undeniably contagious and makes all those that know you feel so lucky to be in your life, especially me. You are truly an incredible friend and I know that you will make an even more incredible wife. There is so much to look forward to as we enter this new journey of our lives and I can’t wait to be by your side every step of the way.
Oh so many memories we have shared over the years, hanging around in your room in parkland playing with candy, going on walks and me trying to get you to run, riding around in your white Xterra to clubs and bars in Tally, our Dubliner days, you trying to teach me yiddish, our morning chats in my office. Too many to count, but I cherish every one! I am so glad that I get to see you everyday and look forward to every morning when you walk in and say "hiii mammm." It always makes me smile. We have changed a lot from ages 16-27 and it has been fun growing up from little high school girls to DG sorority girls to working girls to married women, together. Life is never easy but it certainly helps to have a friend like you along for the ride. Thank you for filling the past 10+ years of my life with your love & friendship. I am so blessed to have you in my life. You are a truly great friend and are going to be a wonderful wife to Corey. I cannot wait to see where life takes us next and I have comfort in knowing where ever we go I will always have you.
I don’t even know to where begin...from high school, to college, to “real-life”...you have ALWAYS been there.. I am very grateful for the friend I have found in you and I treasure it close to my heart. I have loved that over the years, you were always a friend I could turn to. I am able to talk, laugh, cry, share anything with you and that means the world to me! I am so beyond happy for you and Corey. The unconditional love you both share is beautiful and your happiness is contagious. I cannot wait to watch you walk down the aisle on your wedding day and what’s to come for the future Mrs. Friedman.
Where do I even begin?? We have so many memories together. When we first met in seventh grade our lives revolved around having play dates after school and sleepovers on the weekends. This quickly evolved into our fascination with boys and begging our parents for rides to the Magnolia movie theatre or to Fridays so we could go out with all of our friends. We were probably wearing soffees and Nautica T-shirts thinking we looked so hot! You taught me how to booty dance and you took care of me during the summers when I had my shoulder surgeries. How about our infamous trip to Daytona beach!!! My best childhood memories have you in them and I am honored to be here with you this weekend celebrating your engagement to Corey. Through all of the years and different colleges we were able to maintain a friendship that I have always cherished. You are a one of a kind person. Not only are you gorgeous on the outside, but you are one of the most caring and sensitive people I know. You extend yourself for other people and expect nothing in return. You are a voice of reason and a calming influence on your friends and family. Every person that is apart of your life or has ever met you only has wonderful things to say about you. This is a reflection of the woman that you have become. Corey is very lucky to have you by his side for the rest of his life. I wish you both all the happiness in the world and everything life has to offer. I love you Emma.
I am so happy to celebrate your marriage to Corey. When I think back on college, I can’t help but think of Corey as part of so many of our amazing memories. I think it is so special that the minute you met him, you knew he was something different, someone to stick with, and I am so honored that I was able to watch your relationship blossom and grow into what it is today. You never seemed to question that Corey was truly the ONE, and your faith in him and your relationship is a testament to the kind of marriage the two of you will have. Although we only met in college, when I think of you, I think of one of my dearest friends. Southgate, sorority life, the cottages- those times in our lives were so formative and so important to the people we became that even though we met when we were 18, I still feel like we really grew up together. Now, without socials, trips to brueggers, and nights at painted/potbellies, we always manage to find the time for a good talk, a lunch time shopping trip, or a g-chat gossip/wedding planning session. I cannot wait until the big day! You will make such a stunning bride! You and Corey are both so special to me, and I know we will be lifelong friends. I love you!!!
It seems unbelievable that we are here celebrating this exciting time in your life together. At one point in our lives, I was just the weird girl down the hall at Penn State who always came in your room without knocking. Who would have thought after only a few short weeks together, we would still be friends 9 years later? Even though we don’t get to spend as much time together as I would like, I am so lucky to be able to call you a friend. I know that even with the distance between us we are both always there for each other no matter what | As I looked back on our friendship over these last 9 years, I pulled out the bus note you wrote to me after knowing each other for just those 6 weeks. You wrote, “There’s no way we won’t talk- it just won’t happen.” I don’t know if you really believed that when you wrote it but I am so glad that it has been true. You also told me that during those weeks “we’ve made memories to last a lifetime. “ I am so happy that our friendship has lasted these 9 years because I can now be a part of this amazing celebration for you and Corey. You are such an incredible person and friend and you deserve all of the happiness that you have found together. I love you with all my heart and I know that we will continue to make many more memories together over the years to come.
I couldn't be more grateful to have a friend like you in my life. We've had such fun times together... Whether it was a funny night out or just bumming around the DG house, I always smile when I think of you. I've always thought we had a special friendship and seem to always be on the same page. Even though you were always the "Mom" of the Jew Crew, now it really feels like you're an adult. You're getting married! Anytime I watch an SNL video, see a White XTerra, or look at people's wedding websites, I always think of you. I'm so glad we've stayed such good friends over the past few years and I can't wait to experience all of the exciting times to come! I love you a lot.
We first met when i visited FSU as a senior in High School. I was a complete stranger, but you were kind enough to take me around campus, to Pike Hawaiin, to late night library and even let me sleep in your twin size bed in Southgate. For that, i will always be thankful. I literally dont know where i would be without your guidance and support throughout the years. I love you and Im so happy to be part of this amazing time in your life! | We first met when i visited FSU as a senior in High School.
