S: Family Vacation 2011
FC: Family Vacation 2011
1: Big changes came in May 2011. The family moved from Arizona to Utah, and then moved Mom to Florida so she could start her 15 month clinical rotation for school. We made the best of a hard situation and had a fun-filled family vacation from Utah to Florida in the short time we had left together before being separated for 15 months.
2: Only about two hours into our trip we got a flat tire...when we unpacked the spare tire, lo and behold the jack was NOT in the car. That's right, we are traveling with Jeff, the most prepared Boyscout in the world and we can't even change our tire! But- fortunately, we were able to flag down a utility truck full of young guys that helped us out in just a few minutes. It is so nice to know there are still people out there willing to lend a hand to those in need! | Off to a GREAT start!
3: This was a cute little truck stop we stopped at in Texas-- it had a museum of old timey cars and movie memorabilia.
5: TEXAS!! After many hours of traveling, we made it to Texas! The kids loved the awesome hotel we stayed in, and were more than happy to lounge around and watch TV after being in the car so long. DALLAS!! On our way through Dallas the kids didn't quite make it, they were lucky and slept through the two hours of traffic we had to drive through!
7: McGee's Landing Henderson, LA Our very first swamp tour! This was a nice, quiet tour across the Atchfalaya Basin in Canjun Country. We were able to see moss covered trees, many different types of birds and all types of greenery. Towards the end of the tour, the kids were allowed to drive the boat for a bit. They both LOVED the opportunity!
19: Dr. Wagner's Honey Island Swamp Tour Slidell, LA
32: Upon entering Florida, we sporadically pulled over on a side road that lead to the beach and played for a few hours. It was a much needed break and the kids had so much fun at the beach.
34: Being Silly
35: in the Car!
36: Tallahassee, Florida
37: Glass Bottom Boat Tour
44: While on our glass bottom boat tour, a helicopter tour came extremely close to our boat and really low to the water...our tour guide was not happy.
46: Exploring Tallahassee
47: With heavy hearts, we made it to Tampa, Fl where Amylia would be spending the next 6 months away from her family for her clinicals. Fortunately, the apartment was nice, as where her roommates.
48: The Beach in Tampa
54: Busch Gardens | Our last adventure was Busch Gardens. Jeff & Ethan took off on all the awesome roller coaster rides, while Amylia & Emily ventured off on the smaller kid rides, because we were on our separate excursions, the 'boys' weren't in may photographs and that is why there is more of the 'girls'.
63: Later alligator.... | After awhile Crocodile!
