S: SUMMER 2011

FC: Jim, Kim, and J.T.

Jim, Kim, and J.T. | Thank you for taking the time to read our family's story and get to know a little about us. We can only imagine what is in your heart as you make decisions for your child's future. We admire you for your courage in choosing to bring this child into the world and know that you have your child's best interests at heart. We hope that we will get the opportunity to know you .

Jim and I met at my college graduation. We had a great time dancing and at the beach and Jim taught me to eat lobster at the seafood cookout, but I honestly did not expect to see him again. Several weeks later there was a knock at the door of my new summer apartment in the basement of a house. We dated for a year before getting married and soon moved to Virginia for jobs, to be near my sister and grandmother and to start our family. | Starting our family did not go quite as we planned. We struggled with infertility both before and after JT was born. There are many reasons why we wish to have another child, but mostly we love being parents! We also believe that sibling relationships provide joy and support from childhood through adulthood. We look forward to making an adoption plan that includes our family and yours and are completely open to sharing pictures and letters and annual visits if you wish. | After 19 years together, we are each others best friends and have a strong, fun, and loving marriage. We love being parents and the close relationship we have with our son. It is so much fun introducing him to new experiences and enjoying the new experiences he brings to us. We look forward to the same kind of relationship with a new baby and the joy of helping to create a wonderful sibling relationship. | Kim and Jim As a couple... | Adventure | smile | talk | laugh | love | friends | Love

Kim is a caring mom and wife, who is always going the extra mile to make things special for her family. She has created holiday traditions for us, plans fun trips, and sets a great example. Whether she is participating or seeing us off on adventures, she ensures that all the little comforts of home are packed up and remembered to make everything smooth and special. Kim is a learning disabilities teacher in an elementary school and loves figuring out what will work to bring her students success. Being the avid educator, she has spent the time needed to help our son be able to excel in reading and in school. She is very much in tune with children's needs. I love that she is patient with mistakes and uses them as a place to make a child feel safe taking risks. Whatever she decides to do, she always puts her best effort forward to make things special and memorable. | Enjoying a day on the lake | Dolphin feeding | Zipline in the mountains | The thing I most like to do is be a Mom...hearing a little voice early in the morning, making breakfast of pancakes or oatmeal with brown sugar, packing special notes in a lunch box, teaching how to ride a bike, planting a garden together, going to the zoo, playing soccer or forts, picnic or tag in the backyard, cheering at games, helping with homework, watching them discover new things, kissing boo-boos, helping to mold a sense of wonder and respect, hiding Easter eggs, making Christmas cookies, creating costumes, decorating birthday cakes, roasting marshmallows for s'mores, baths and bedtime stories, saying prayers, kisses goodnight and love you all the much in the world, | About Kim: | Getting ready to ride horses | Personal Challenge: Finish a Tough Mudder race ( I am not a natural athlete, but with luck and preparation, stubborn will get me through), | Favorite Books: Mysteries or Historical Fiction | Website: Pinterest | Ice Cream: Mint Chocolate Chip | Music: Anything I can dance to! | Kim | (by Jim) | Dream Vacation Plans: Iceland and Hawaii | Waiting for ice cream | Having fun in a first snowfall

Hot dog break at Disney | "Daddy, can I drive the boat?" | Fun in the snow - skiing and sledding | No comments and no peeking! | Jim never met a stranger. His outgoing and helpful nature attracted me to him from the beginning. That and his incredible capacity to find new things to explore! He is always seeking to learn something new and finds adventure in all he does while somehow constantly worrying about safety at the same time (seriously!). I will never forget Jim as a new dad. I was truly amazed at his dedication. I don't think I changed a diaper for a week. Watching it made me fall in love all over again. He is a patient, loving and involved dad: showing, listening, and doing! Jim was a teacher for a few years and is now a network analyst for the local school system. He is great at computers, but really enjoys the part of his job where he interacts with others and helps to solve problems for them. Life with Jim is always exciting, but some of the best times are everyday things: the quiet talks at night, lazy days on our boat, barbecuing chicken and ribs in the smoker, coffee in bed on a cold winter morning. Jim is great at making his family feel safe, important, and loved! | Scuba diving | About Jim: | I want to be there to catch our new son/daughter when they fall, but also encourage them to try again. I will be there in the good times and the bad times. I love watching children discover new things, whether it is meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time, or tucking them in long after they are asleep. I will hold them when they cry, explain to them the reasons why when they break the rules. I will try my best to be at every sporting event or activity that is important to them. I will put everything I have into raising them and create magic and success. I have a strong faith that I will share. I would love to welcome your child into our home and family. | (by Kim) | Jim | Jim loves building things, scuba diving, country music, woodworking, computers, and gadgets. His newest interest is his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Puppy pool day | JT is happy, busy, helpful, kind-hearted, and fun loving. He is 9 years old, plays soccer, and swims on a team. He loves to write stories, read, spend time with his dog, and most of all play outside. JT is a planner and is preparing for all the things he will do with and for the new baby. He is a great source of joy in our lives and will make a wonderful big brother. | Sleepy snuggle time | Mom, can I go outside? | A brother shares childhood memories and grown-up dreams. -Author Unknown | Favorite Football Team: New England Patriots (like his Daddy) But, much to the despair of his Grandpa, a Wisconsin born Packers fan | Favorite Playmate: Our lab/hound mix, Cinder(ella) | Fun TV Show: WIPEOUT! (which inspired this birthday party)

Visiting Disney after Thanksgiving with Jim's family in Florida | Holiday traditions and birthday party fun | April Fools Day with Rice Krispie sushi | Carving Pumpkins | Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks | All the magic of Christmas | Birthday Party fun | New Year's | Easter Eggs

We both enjoy close relationships with our families and siblings and often spend holidays and vacations together. Our friends and family are very supportive of our adoption plan and everyone is looking forward to a new baby to spoil! | Jim's sister in Florida loves being an aunt and provides a good excuse for visits to Disney! | JT is looking forward to being a big brother and has been practicing on his littlest cousins. | Kim's dad with all the grandkids on vacation in Pennsylvania. Guess who is the biggest kid of them all? From sword fighting and football to tea parties, he is up for it all! | Kim and her sisters trying on Christmas clothes to see who looks best (or decides to keep) this outfit | Not everyone gets to see this picture! | but we laughed until we cried while we did it | Jim and Kim both lost their mothers and we are so fortunate to have Jim's aunt in our lives. She spoils JT like a Grandmother (and us too!) | Cousin fun | Kim is close to both of her sisters. Lori lives nearby with her husband and 3 children. She cares for 1-2 infants or toddlers in her home and would love to care for our baby during the school year when Kim returns to work. Tracy is 8 years younger than Kim. They had fun growing up together and share a wonderful, supportive relationship today. | Lori | Tracy | We all traveled to Wisconsin for a big family reunion on the lake. If you look closely, one of Kim's cousins snuck into our family picture. | Visiting Jim's dad "Pool Grandpa" | F | M | A | L | Y | I

We live in a friendly neighborhood with excellent schools where we have close friends of all ages. Kids ride their bikes, people walk their dogs, and we enjoy block parties and the neighborhood pool. We have a large backyard with a playset, sandbox, and plenty of room to play ball. We are close to several parks, the zoo, movies, and play areas. | OUR HOME | What to do this weekend... movie theater...museum... boating...skiing...maybe just invite over friends and cook a good meal, with dessert, of course...or pop some popcorn and play games. | For the baby's room...Winnie the Pooh...now will that be with flowers and butterflies for a girl or climbing trees and balloons for a boy? | J.T.'s Pirate Bedroom | Park and preschool nearby

Our child will always know that you made this choice out of love. He or she will be raised to take pride in that decision and to know what a wonderful gift our family received because of it. We think it is important for our child to know their birth family and birth story and hope to have an on-going open relationship with you and your family. Education is important to us and we plan for our new son or daughter to attend a church preschool starting at age 4 and attend elementary school where Kim teaches. We will always support our children academically and do whatever is needed to ensure their self-confidence and success in whatever path they choose. Our upbringings were similar to each other and have been a strong foundation upon which our marriage and family is built. We believe in putting our children first and we believe in teaching our children to respect themselves and others, be kind, set goals, have a positive outlook, have fun, trust in God, do your best, be yourself and seek happiness. | Sincerely, Kim and Jim | Our Plans and Family Values | Thank you for taking the time to learn about us - our life, our love, our family, and our dreams of completing our family with another child to love and cherish for all of our lives. If you choose to entrust your child to us, he or she will always know they are loved, not only by us, but also by you. We want you to know we are praying for you to have peace and support as you make this difficult decision.
