BC: Georgia Pacific Co. | Georgia Pacific Company was created by Owen Robertson Cheatham in 1927 in Augusta, Georgia. Now it's a giant company that makes all sorts of products and is used by the whole nation. | Home Depot | Home Depot was created by Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank, in 1978- in Atlanta. The first 2 Home Depot's were opened in June in Atlanta, and now they are spread throughout America.

FC: 20th Century Georgia

1: Boll Weevil & Drought | The Boll Weevil is a beetle that destroyed cotton crops decreasing production. Sharecroppers lost their jobs, some moved north. The beetles migrated form Mexico and infested cotton growing areas in the early 1920's. | The drought was caused by lack of rainfall over a long period of time. In effect farmers went into debt, sharecroppers moved to urban areas, and agricultural related businesses struggled.

2: Stock Market Crash of 1929 | This occurred on October 29, 1929 after World War 1. This was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the U.S. It effected all western countries for a period of 10 years. This happened and led up to because of the "Roaring Twenties." That was the time of wealth and success.

3: Rural Electrification | The Rural Electrification Act was created in 1939 by executive order, and authorized by Congress. This was created to provide farms with lighting and power. This was an inexpensive action.

4: Eugene Talmadge | Talmadge was governor in the state of Georgia during the time period of 1926 to 1946, he served 3 terms. During this time his personality changed and developed voters train of thought.

5: World War 2 | World War two was a Nazi Party ran/ created by Adolf Hilter. This was a white supremacist group with a hatred against Jews. This in result, killed 6million Jew, and impacted all of America. | Bombing of Pearl Harbor | Morning of December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked a navy base in Hawaii, in result, it had killed more than 2,400 Americans 21 ships destroyed/ sunken and 188 planes destroyed.

6: The Holocaust | The Holocaust was the murder of six million Jews, by the Nazi's created by Adolf Hitler. | Military Bases | Fort Benning, Camp Gordon, Fort Stewart, Hunter Air Feild, Warner Robins Air Field, Glynco Naval Air Station, and Fort McPherson are all Military bases that were used in WW1 & WW2. They are all located throughout Georgia, and are still used today.

7: William B. Hartsfield | Hatsfield was the mayor of Atlanta, for over 20 years He led the whole city through the Depression and the civil rights era. | Ivan Allen Jr. | Ivan Allen Jr,. was the Mayor of Atlanta through the time period of 1962-1920. During that time period he led the city through the Civil Rights movement.

8: Ellis Arnall | Arnall was governor of Georgia for 4 years,(1943-47) during that time he was the most effective in the history of the State of Georgia. He paid of the state's debt of $36 million dollars.

9: Martin Luther King Jr. | Martin Luther King Jr., was a great man who overcame racism and discrimination. He was born January 15, 1929 and spent his whole life on trying to make America a better place, for everyone. | Civil Rights | This was a movement created by Martin Luther King so everyone could be treated equally. It was successful.

11: Charlayne Hunter | Charlayne Hunter was one of the 2 Africa-Americans to be accepted in Georgia University. She is also known and respected because of he talent for journalism and television. | Maynard Jackson | Jackson was the first African-American mayor to serve in a major city. He served 8 years, then in 1990 served a third term, directly after Andrew Young's mayorship.

12: Benjamen Mays | Mays is known for many things, such as being a minister educator, scholar, and social activist, But, the main things known for being Martin Luther King Jr.'s mentor. Also is known for being the president of Morehouse College in Atlanta. | Jimmy Carter | Jimmy Carter was Americas 39th president. In 2002 he was awarded the Nobal Peace Prize. He was the only president to be awarded that prize, after leaving office.

13: Two-Party System | "A two-party system is a system where two major political parties dominate voting in nearly all elections at every level of government and, as a result, all or nearly all elected offices are members of one of the two major parties." from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-party_system

15: Coca-Cola | Coca-Cola was created by John Pemberton, then later bought by Asa Griggs Candler. (a businessman) Then was produced in Atlanta, and now is sold everywhere in the world except North Korea, and Cuba. | Delta Airlines | Delta Airlines was created by B. R. Coad and Collett E. Woolman in 1928. Today Delta Airlines is the third largest airline company, that travels all arounf the world. Crated in Georgia.
