BC: On our way home. Ungraded to first class the only way to travel

FC: HAITI Mission 2010

First leg of the trip stop over in Puerto Rico | Too bad we couldn't stay here on the way home.

On our way from Puerto Rico to Haiti. Now to pass through customs...luggage behind a rope grab it and go... then hold on tight and walk fast when you get outside. Regina at the customs counter

We worked at a free clinic with Light Ministries volunteers. Patients lined up before 0600 and would wait all day.

We treated people with many problems that would be treated over the counter in the US

We visited an orphanage near Leogane that was established by a Canadian couple...the children were very happy and well cared for. They all had individual beds, clothes, food, water and classroom for education.

The house in Leogane...under construction but with running clean water, toilet and a shower. The boys stayed outside in a bunk house. They had a very friendly chicken that liked to wake them in the middle of the night. We had dinner together in the evening and shared our days experiences

Thelma in front of the house, below planning for the day with our drivers....

Tarantulas Boys must fish no matter where they go, below they caught a frog and used it as bait.

On our last day we visited an orphanage in Port-Au-Prince. The children ran to us as soon as we arrived and wouldn't let go. They had lost about 80 children and workers during the earthquake most of which remain in the crumbled building.

On Sunday everyone gets dressed up and attends church services. The two pictures below are of a baptism in the local creek.

We took a trip up the mountain to a lookout over Port-Au-Prince. Most of the Haitians are living in tents.
