1: United City of Yorkville, IL | Our New House | * Kendall County * Incorporated on 10/17/1873 * Estimated population 16,505 as of July 1st, 2008 (sign says 17,000) We say 17,002! * Greenbriar Subdivision

2: It all began on a Sunday morning in March of 2011. Beth came to visit for the weekend. I woke up early and decided to view the home list we got each day. This magnificent house appeared. The home had 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a bonus room, two car garage, and finished basement with a Bar! The original asking price was $275,000 but within three months, it had dropped to $204,000! We immediately called our agent, Al, and scheduled a showing for the next Sunday. We scheduled other homes that day as well, but none seemed to be "the one". The end of the day came, and Coral Berry was the last home on the list. The moment we walked into the home, we knew this was it! Sitting in the basement, we called the agent to place an offer. We heard back the next day - someone had seen the home and placed an offer on SATURDAY! The agent apologized profusely and allowed us to place a back-up offer in case they dropped out. An unexpected turn of events and our agent 'fired' us around May. We still had not heard back from the home and assumed that it was out of the question. We looked into new built to suit homes. We had found the one we wanted - Hartz. We signed the contract and had it pending legal approval. That same weekend, we got a call from Al, saying that the first offer dropped out, and we were first in-line. We were no longer working with him, and needed to find an agent to work with. The next few months are a blur, but we were able to get out of our contract with Hartz due to unacceptable changes by our attorney and find an agent willing to help us out -- Josie! Within 3 months, we were homeowners! And The rest is history!
