FC: Home Alone | BY: Kylee Elmore

One day on a Saturday night my parents left me home alone while they went out to have fun partying. As they were walking out the door they told me, "Lock all doors, be careful and don't do anything stupid." And slammed the door behind them.

I walked up to the window beside me and watched my parents drive away. I shut the blinds and locked all the doors in the house. I ran up stairs into my room and put my head phones in on blast, putting the real world behind me.

I looked out my window one more time and saw huge gray clouds coming towards my house. Lightning started to flash in different directions and the wind started to pick up. Trees started to lose its leaves and fences started falling over.

I took my headphones out and it was completely silent. Moments later my dog starts to bark non stop downstairs. I grabbed my phone for light and started looking for the light switch. As I approached it, the lights never came on. I kept flicking it up and down hoping it would make a difference, but nothing happened.

Then all of a sudden my dog starts to squeal. I hear glass shatter all over the wooden floors downstairs. I poked my head out my door with my eyes wide as they can be. My heart started to race and my body became stiff. I couldn't think straight at all.

Finally when I had the guts to step out my room, I would look both ways and quietly slide my body against the wall trying to blend in. Eyes still wide, I carefully walk down the steps one by one. | I tried to look around in the pitch black house but still see nothing. I was waiting to hear a false move or a figure of movement. But still, nothing happened.

While standing stiff as a board on the stair way, I could hear myself breath in and out. I attempted to take another step down when suddenly I miss footing on the stair case. My foot rolled out of place and and I smashed my face against the wall. I could feel blood dripping out of my nose. Tumbling down the stairs one by one and finally crash to the bottom wooden floors. My vision slightly became a blur. I looked at my hands and it was filled with blood.

Struggling to open my eyes, I hear slight movement. I attempt to get up but my ankle was screaming of pain like screeching your nails across a chalk board. I looked for something above to hold on for support. I tried looking around but my vision became more of a blur. My mind was completely going blank.

I slowly looked up above me and there was this black figure right in front of me holding a gun against my for head.I was completely in shock mode and had no words or a peep come out of my mouth. I stared him straight in the eyes and he mumbled softly "I'm sorry". Tears started to run down my face completely forgetting about the pain in my ankle. I was confused on so many levels like "What is he thinking? Why is he doing this? Is he really going to shoot me? What did I do wrong?" Moments later my life was ended and I'm here lying dead on the wooden floors. Blood started to fill into the cracks in the ground waiting for someone to notice my empty soul lying on the ground hopelessly.

The back door starts to unlock and my parents walk in calling my name. After a while they start to notice blood rolling down the wooden cracks and follows the trail. Headed towards the stair case, my mom fell straight to her knees balling her heart out on what she just saw. Her own daughter just laying there full of blood. Her make-up became smeared and her hair became rough. My dad comes towards her and puts his arms around her and starts to cry. Something that i have never seen before. And all of a sudden I see bright lights as i felt a cool breeze flow over my entire body and it was then that my eyes open to focus on my bedroom what a dream.
