5: sidebar | I love my hometown! Ketchikan is in Southeast Alaska. It is the first city you come to when visiting the massive state (Texas can fit in it three times!) | Ketchikan, Alaska

6: SIDEBAR: traveling inside my state, Alaska is something I love doing although I haven't been to many places, I plan on traveling the state one day. | Traveling in your own state will open your mind to new things about your environment. It also costs a lot less than traveling across the country! | Haines, Alaska | Ice Park 2011 in Fairbanks, Alaska

8: There are so many places in the US to go see, and there is something different no matter where you go. | Canon beach, Oregon | Chicago, Illinois

9: Sidebar: This is when my GS troop and I went to Boston before heading to Europe. we are posing in front of a piece of the Berlin wall. | Me! | I have been to Oregon many times, but in 2011 I got to go to the Tillamook factory in Tillamook, Oregon. | I love cheese!

10: Travel to Mexico, cross the boarder to our neighbor. | There is so much to see in this huge country. Going to just two places will be vastly different from each other. | elementary school in La Paz, Mexico

14: Side bar: I went to Paris with my troop. We also rode on a bus to the eastern town of Beaune and I ate escargo (SNAILS)! | Paris, France! | My mom and I | Me! | Versailles, France

15: Going to a less tourist infested place is a great way to experience the culture of a particular country. It was nice to be in Paris but I think I experienced "real" France in Beaune. | Me, eating escargo! | At a famous wine cellar in Beaune

16: Luzern, Switzerland | Side bar: we took a tram up the one of the most famous Mountains in the Swiss Alps. | Me!

17: Adelboden, Switzerland | Taking chances with new food and trying something that you have never done before is usually the best way to experience a country's culture.

18: There are so many things to do and see where ever you go. | Each place has something to offer that is unique and different. | Egypt | Brazil | Rome | India | Australia
