Creative Writing Hour 5 Jake Kearns | The Next Step
As the aftermath began, houses crumbled, pipes shattered, trees were pried from their homes, as if the lands were being torn apart. As people perished, the reaper retrieved their souls. The land became stressed, skies began to cry, thunder roared as it gained strength, spheres of electricity floated through the skies like they were lost. Families became homeless in a matter of seconds, even the wealthy scattered across the lands searching for food. Peering across the crumbled city, all I could see was destruction. I watched as children jumped into the flames of burning buildings just to sear away their fears. The domino effect began, the world was broken down; the world will be reborn.
There was an old man sitting, sitting in a empty room. His inspiration slowly fading into a dark abyss. He remembered back to the days when he was a writer; over time his mind began to wither away. A match was struck, The match mirrors its reflection in the man’s watery blue eyes A burning flame began glimmering brighter, filling the room - Revealing a fresh white paper laying on the ground, with a new pencil placed next to the paper. The room grew brighter, words began to form on the page; light begins to fade. Darkness encloses around the dying flame, sounds of writing cease. Again a another match is struck, a sulfur aroma is released into the air. Light fights away the darkness. As the light flows through the mans mind, words bounce off the page, filling the room, filling his mind with inspiration.
The beach was calm. People became frozen in time, Sirens began to ring. Looking offshore, my eyes were stricken with fear. The sky was plagued black. The angry winds begin to blow, Violent waves crash along the shore Wispy foam floats into the sky, closer to the shaking trees in dark town. | The water breaches the wall, Rushing over the buildings, Killing men, women and children. Rushing water swallows people’s homes whole, Then everything goes calm, Aureate light shined through the eye of the storm. Crowds of people try to flee; perish as a surge of water sweeps them away, out to the deep blue sea. Humanity’s imprint on Earth has been swept away.
Clouds roll in, Darkness arises. Over all the land the sun is stricken black The people of the land turned with the sun Thus summoning the killer, no longer encaged by the light, He is free He walks down the gravel road, Watching as the fire engorges the shops being looted, Searching for his next victim. He curiously wanders through a narrow passage, Find a old man, afraid and alone, Left at the scene was only a knife in the old man Blood slowly streaming down the man’s chest down from his body, down into the street, down the sidewalk, down into the middle of the world. The cycle of destruction has begun.
Life is a journey, you never can see what is behind the next door. Your future could have nothing or maybe you could run into something; how will you ever know without opening up that next door? You wont. opportunities are discovered; not always recovered. When you leave something behind it may be lost in time another regret another missed opportunity for success or another push for better opportunity in that next door. Leave all your doors open because without it, your future might be stolen.
