October 23, 2009 Friday Paul and I have been trying for the past few weeks to make a baby. I have been watching my period days for a while and knew my fertility day was on Oct 6th. Tonight marked my two days late for my period. Around 9 o'clock I decided I would take a test. I was to excited to wait till the morning like all tests recommend. After I took the test and waited I picked it up and could see only a faint line that indicated I was pregnant. I went and looked up some information online and found that even faint lines meant that I was. Still I was unsure because I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me and I was only seeing what I wanted to see. So I decided to drive up to Walgreens and buy a digital test. When I got back I took it again and it definitely said I was pregnant. I was so excited that I was going to be a mom. I ran around the apartment like I was Rocky who had just won a match. I took pictures of the test and then thought of how to tell Paul who was at work. I decided on putting bread in the oven along with the test and wrote a note asking him to take the stuff out of the oven. I stayed up late, but was in bed "pretending" to sleep. I heard him come in and take the stuff out of the oven and so I got up to see his reaction. I was grinning and he I could tell he didn't have a clue. I told him and he thought the test was a thermometer and didn't think anything of it. After he realized he was so excited. We both went to sleep thinking of you.
We were so exited to see what was in my tummy that we went and had ultrasounds done early and found out IT'S A GIRL!

For Christmas Paul got a GPS for hiking and GEOCACHING. As soon as the snow cleared we were off on our first hunt for caches in Nicholasville. Our first day out we only found 3 of the 5. After some practice with other caches in Nicholasville we got better and have found nearly all we sought. When we went to D.C we also did some caching and hid our first coin there. One day when it was pretty out we decided to take Katherine out for her first cache so we went downtown Lexington. Luckily there were other hunts going on that day so we didn't have to worry about "muggles" thinking we were strange. Our total for the year....31! | N 37 55.691 W 084 33.010 It's right in front of You!
The City of Alexandria | In mid March Paul and I drove to the east for a conference I had in Washington D.C. One of the places we stopped at on the way was the city of Alexandria. We spent the day walking around and had dinner at Gadsby's Tavern which is known as a place Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, and Monroe have eaten. | Road Trip
When we arrived in Maryland we drove up to Rock Creek Park and left the Jeep. We packed lunch and took our bikes on a 15 mile ride down the park and to the memorials. It was beautiful. We had lunch by the reflection pool and then dipped out feet into the WWII Memorial. We then rode our bikes over to the Jefferson Memorial and took some pictures of the Cherry Blossoms. We made one last stop at the White House before going back for the car....by bus. We ended the night at a Moroccan restaurant called Marrakesh. It was a 7 course meal lasting 3 hours but well worth it!
