The heart in the Uitenbroek family represents a lot. For me we are a very loving family. We also have a lot of heart when we do something. We are always trying to do our best. | A knee brace, a simple item to support the knee. It reminds me of the seven months when my grandpa has a bad staff infection in his right knee. It was a very long part of my life. My family including grandparents means the world to me. Up until he had his infection we constantly were bowling with each other.
The Jaguar hood ornament is very important not just to me but also my family. It doesnt remind us of a good time but a time of sorrow. When my cousin Craig passed away in a car accident. Craig was like a brother to me and my sister. This shows the strength and closeness of our family. When this happened the whole family was united and helped each other out. | The basketball symbolizes my favorite sport. It also represents where I learned a lot of skills such as teamwork and leadership. I have always loved the sport of basketball ever since I was a part of the Darboy Dribblers in fourth grade. I had the same coach nearly every year until 8th grade.
The American flag is a shared belief in our family. Respecting the flag and people that represent it is very important in my daily life. My family and I even try to buy American made products as much as we can even if it costs more. Today most people buy foreign products instead of staying local. | In the world today it seems as if grades are everything to kids. We are pushing ourselves to get great grades so we can go to the best colleges. It is something I value because I do not know what I would do if I could not continue my education after high school.
In my family you must be a good listener. When we are asked to do something, we are suppose to listen and do it. It is also a norm in school to listen so you can understand a concept or what you are suppose to do on a project. | Sports in general represent who I am. Sports are where I found a lot of my friends and how to push myself in life. Without sports I do not believe I would be where I am today. Ever since I started playing sports I have loved them and that has made me a better competitor which will help me in life.
The rosary that I was given at my Confirmation is a possession that is very dear to me because of my faith. My parents gave the rosary. If it would have been from someone else it wouldn't be as special. | My wooden cross that my dad built is part of my material culture. This also defines my faith and how I live it out. I helped my dad make multiple crosses like this one. We gave out the others to members of our family.
The Little Lunkenheimer Whistle I made. It shows that I have grown in ways that now I am pretty talented when working with my hands. The whistle also represents what I like to do in my free time. | I chose a frying pan because I enjoy to cook. I started attempting to cook at a young age. To be honest I wasn't very good. Truth is I am still not very good to this day.
The Green Bay Packers are my favorite sports team. If I am not able to watch a game, I will blow a gasket. I tend not to listen to my parents a whole lot when the Packers are playing besides when they are watching them with me. | The train represents a few things for me. First one of my ancestors once had robbed a train. But the main reason I have it is because ever since a young age I have loved playing with my model trains. I still enjoy watching them and building tracks.
Whiddling has been a hobby for me ever since I sold a stick that I carved at a rummage sale. I don't really make anything special just do a little carving for the fun of it. | As not a lot of people know my family makes some of the best maple syrup I have ever had. Ever since I was a young kid I have enjoyed watching and helping out with the process of making it. It is also fun just being around the family and hearing their stories of past years.
