6: 10 weeks | 20 weeks | 30 weeks | A thought before you were born... I remember thinking how I couldn't wait to meet you. It was a very long nine months and as the days got closer I was rushing to get things ready and bugging daddy to put the car seat in the car just in case you came early. I wanted everything to be perfect for you. Love, Mommy

7: 37 weeks The wait is almost over.!!! | Getting ready for baby.... Nickname before you were born: Daddy liked to call you Mac Choosing your name: The night we found out you would be a girl we went out to dinner and went through many names daddy liked Makenzie because of his Mac tool box. We both picked Ann. Mommy picked the spelling of your name hoping it would make it easier to spell. Color and theme of your room: Color green, with frogs and flowers. Mommy and daddy were still working on your room even after your first birthday. Thoughts and stories about getting ready: We were trying to buy a new house so we were very busy trying to get organized and ready for you and the move.

8: Decmber 5, 2009 10:13 p.m. 19 3/4 in. 7lbs. 15 oz. | Thoughts on the day of your birth ... I remember holding you and couldn’t believe that daddy and I created such a beautiful little girl. You looked so perfect in our arms and we didn’t want to let you go. I remember watching you sleep in the crib in the hospital and not being able to sleep. I couldn’t wait to take you home so that we could begin our lives as a family.

9: The Story of your... | All about baby... Where you were born: St. Johns Hospital in Oxnard, Ca How long labor lasted: Mommy started feeling slight contractions around 2am and went to the hospital, but they sent me home because it wasn’t time. At 11:00am my contractions started coming every 5 min. so back to the hospital at 12:30pm. I got an epidural shortly after arriving and you were born 10:13p.m.. Eye color: Blue Hair color: dark brown Doctors name: your doctor was Dr. Shah, mommies doctor Dr. Hanna he didn’t deliver you.

10: At the Hospital How we welcomed you into the world: As soon as you were born we called everyone and Grandma Peggy came to visit you. So many visitors. First People to hold you: Grandma Peggy, Angela, and Leilani Some of their comments: How much you looked like daddy, and how sweet and precious you were. Mommy’s mommy: Had a dream when I was only a couple months pregnant that you would be a girl. Who knew she would be right. When you were born Grandma Peggy, thought you were gorgeous and so precious. I think she would have taken you home if she could have. Cute things you did: You liked to sleep a lot and made the sweetest noises. | Bringing you home oh baby of ours we welcome you home. A precious new life to call our own. | Your very first outing was on December 19,2009. We went to Miguel’s parents house for a Christmas party. We had to take two bottles of breast milk, extra clothes, and lots of diapers. We sat and talked to all mommy and daddy’s friends. Everyone thought you were so cute and quiet.

11: First Weeks | First Day Home... We brought you home on December 7, 2009 late afternoon. It had been raining that day but when it was time to go home it had stopped long enough to get you in the car drive home and into the house. Home is where the heart is Your first address: 26 Carriage Sq. Oxnard, Ca but moved to our new house on January 15, 2010 46 Carriage Sq. Oxnard, Ca. Who came to visit: Blanca, Poppy and Elvia our next door neighbors, and Samantha. Your temperament: You were very calm and easy going. You loved to sleep and only cried when you were hungry or wanted mommy and daddy. How much you slept: At one week old you slept 7 hours. How much you ate: The first week I had to give you 1 (2 ounce) bottle a day and nursed you every 2 hours.

12: Thoughts on the first few weeks of your life.... Mommy and daddy were so happy you were here. Unfortunately,, daddy was working on the new house so he wasn’t home a lot, but when he was he kept you close and loved on you. We had a lot of packing, and moving to do and you did so well. You would take good naps and hang out with Grandma or with Blanca. I cuddled with you all the time and enjoyed watching you sleep in my arms, I didn’t think I could ever put you down. I was amazed how well you slept at night, you would sleep 2 to 4 hours at a time the first month sometimes even longer. You were perfect!! | One Month

13: Favorite cuddle object: didn’t really have one you liked your blankets. Favorite time to eat: Always liked to eat every 2 hours like clockwork. Favorite time to sleep: You took many naps mommy let you stay on your own schedule whenever you wanted to sleep you slept. Favorite person to hold you: Mommy Favorite way to be held: cuddling and looking up at the person.

14: Daddy’s mommy: Grandma Namsun came out January 5, 2010 and spent about 2 weeks with us. She loved on you all day. Grandma hated leaving you.

15: Ten little fingers & ten tiny toes... | Favorite family moments For Christmas we went to Aunt Georgia’s and Uncle Paul’s and had a nice Christmas dinner. No one held me much but that was okay I liked being with mommy and daddy the most.

16: "A father's love warms the heart of his children forever." | Daddy left Jan. 19, 2010 for 7 months.

18: 2 months | Quickly changed diapers With fresh baby powder; Lullabies sung in a whisper, no louder; Butterfly kisses with soft tickly wings; These are a few of my favorite things.

19: Cute as a button | Laughed: 2 months old Feb 25

21: 3 months

22: First trip to Kansas. | Traveling for the first time on April 5-12, 2010 Mommy and I went to Kansas to visit daddy’s family. Grandma Peggy drove us to the airport, and then we took two planes to get there. We had to take the car seat, stroller, diaper bag, carry-on bag, and 1 big bag. It had my play mat, clothes, some diapers, and all mommies’ stuff. The plane wasn’t too bad I slept or nursed the whole flight. But walking through the airport you cried every time I put you down in the car seat you wanted to be held. I had fun visiting with everyone and loved playing with grandma. She took me outside to play in her garden. She let me play with the wind chimes on the patio. I had a lot of fun. My cousin Eaven was really gentle with me. I missed them all when we left.

23: 4 months | 4 months | trying cereal | Holiday: Easter 2010 What we did: We went to Samantha’s and I played with Nicholas and Brittany. I had a hard time sleeping there so Mommy and I went home.

24: Favorite song: 5 months old mommy realized that I liked Darius Rucker “It won’t be like this for long” helped me sleep. | Fiff | First beach trip with Leilani, Nicholas, and Brittany. | Aunt Liz and Casandra

25: 5 months | Grandpa Steve came to visit. We went to the Reagan Library and the harbor.

27: A few of your firsts The first time you smiled I remember so well. With all your first times There’s a story to tell! | There’s always a first time for everything: You got your toes in your mouth and rolled over on the same day.

28: 6 months

29: Oh how you grow! An ounce then a pound you’re growing so fast. Oh how I wish for your baby days to last. The first six months go so fast....

32: OUR HERO Daddy's finally Home. | Not favorite family moment On January 19, 2010 Daddy had to deploy for 7 months. It was very hard for mommy and me. Mommy tried to help me remember daddy’s voice by playing my daddy bear, which usually helped me stop crying. We were so glad when he got home on August 8, 2010. It took me about a day to get to know my daddy again and soon I would follow daddy everywhere. I love my daddy a whole lot.

38: Holiday: Thanksgiving 2010 What we did: We went to Cousin Kathy’s (Aunt Georgia’s family) and had dinner. I enjoyed getting attention from everyone. I let everyone carry me and I practiced my walking. I didn’t like the food so mommy gave me Mac and cheese with chicken and veggies. | 11 months

40: Happy first birthday! Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? I can hardly believe that you’re already one! | Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday to you.. Happy Birthday to Makenzie Happy Birthday Tooooo YOOOOOU!

41: 1 st Birthday | Celebrating your first birthday Theme: Bumble bees We had a party at my house. There were pink and yellow balloons, streamers, and a piñata. Your cake was confetti with white frosting. You didn’t really want to try it because you were running a temp. of 101. So we tried the cake again when you felt better and you rather have the chocolate cake. The other cake mommy made was chocolate with raspberry filling and white frosting. They were both yummy! Who Attended and the things you got: Nicole & Matt gift card Miguel, Rose, Rudy & Mary clothes Leilani clothes & musical book Aunt Kathy & Uncle Lowell telephone Samantha, Nicholas & Brittany cell phone and clothes Aunt Georgia Uncle Paul clothes, baby that goes in the bath and a doll that you can change the clothes on. Grandma Peggy clothes and balls for my tent. Melissa, John and Avery ball popper Jessica and Tommy dodger Barbie and an outfit Who couldn’t make it: Grandpa Steve dogs and clothes and Grandma Namsun and Grandpa Ed money.
