1788 We, the people of the Third Estate are highly unhappy. Our economy is pitiful, the monarchy is broke but still managing to nickel and dime everything we've got, and most importantly, we haven't had a good harvest in what seems like ages. | Digital image. Estates-General. N.p., n.d. Web. 16 Nov. 2012. .
Digital image. Louis XVI. N.p., n.d. Web. 16 Nov. 2012. . | Louis is claiming he is "fed up". Please, he doesn't know half of what we are going through. He said he is summoning parliament. But considering they are basically powerless in a state of affairs I'm not really sure what this is going to do to help with anything. Seems like a waste of time to me but hey, what do I know?
Digital image. An Unfair Tax System. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | We are tired with of paying taxes we can't even afford while the nobility is rich and not even having to pay them. so basically all that is happening is the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
kDigital image. Estates-General. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | Parliament claims they have found a solution. They were going to ask for an Estates-General. This is a meeting between the first, second, and third estates. considering it is the first one since 1614 I am really looking forward to see how this turns out. hopefully for the better.
Digital image. Estates-General. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | We are getting very upset with our lack of representation and the amount of say we have in this stupid meaning. I have a strong that a lot of us, including myself, are getting ready to act out against this nonsense.
Digital image. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | Well, I and the rest of the members of the Third Estate are done with this Estates-General stuff. It is making absolutely no progress whatsoever. So to solve this problem, we have established the National Assembly to handle our affairs where we actually have some say and representation in the things we want and need.
Digital image. Advil. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | I have become bedridden with an undiagnosable sickness. Doctor said he is not sure how much longer i will make it but I will continue to fight this illness and contribute by writing these journals.
Digital image. Chaos. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | My daughter tell me of serious chaos making its way through France and its cause is the Third Estate. Who would have thought we would have come this far? Stand up for what WE think is right. What WE want. And what WE want is freedom from the ones who have held us back all these years, who have made us pay taxes so they would not have to to, the ones who kept us from being FREE.
Digital image. Attack on the Bastille. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | I have been informed we have performed an attack on the Bastille. We are actually doing this. I honestly think that this could be the beginning of the end. The revolt we have taken is working as planned. However, my illness is worsening so all I can do is pray that i will be able to make it long enough to call myself free.
Digital image. Declaration of the Rights of Man. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | The day has come. Just in time too. The Declaration of the Rights of Man has been approved and I am now a free man. it is hard to believe that through all of this pain and sickness that i am the happiest I have ever been in my entire life. At least now I can do what I have always wanted to do, die free.
Digital image. Freedom. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 Nov. 2012. . | My Father's illness took his life today and his last words to me were, "Find My Journal". It seemed unfinished so i figured I'd write one last journal for him. The Revolution is over and we have gained our freedom. We are now all born Free and Equal. No man better than the other. How God intended for the world to be. Everything now seems to happy. just how my dad would have liked to have it after suffering all his years. Sincerely, Anonymous
