FC: Now I Am Six! Maya Shah Johnson
This book presented to Maya on the occasion of her sixth birthday with love from Nana | Maya Shah Johnson born March 4, 2005 New York, N.Y.
On March 3rd to New York we did fly - "The Baby is coming...come quick, oh my!" Nana and PopPop, Ba and DaDa All hurried for the Great Hurrah! Just before midnight we were sent to sleep As Todd kept vigil, a watch he did keep To be with Bindi as she labored on Eager to welcome her daughter or son. A few hours later the phone woke us up "Come quickly - we really must interrupt. When we arrived we all stood by Knowing that a special delivery was nigh. Then out of a room flew the new father Clearly to him there was NO bother. A thumbs up he gave - his dimples deep Clearly his heart going bleep, bleep. He ran - yes ran - down the corridor - Looking as though he really could soar. "It's a girl!" he announced with buckets of pride - And Bindi is fine! - he joyfully supplied. | The Story of the Birth of Maya....
 Maya Shah Johnson is here!
Soon we were able to hold wee Maya Who Nana soon called her "Apple Pie-ah" - And this baby drew visitors from all around For love of Doc Bindi sure did abound. Then Maya came home to York Avenue And everyone there soon loved her too. Yes Maya was a favorite of all the folks - From doormen to the delivery blokes.
Mommy and Daddy both worked to get home - for from their Maya their hearts didn't roam.
When Nana visited, off to the river we'd go Watching the birds and the boats go by slow - I'll never forget those times with my Maya My sweet little "apple-pie-ah" | And Maya flew off to India - not even age one And there met the Shah family - about a ton! She was treasured by all she met over there And litte Maya had narry a care.
Maya spoke early - she shocked most all As she articulated the big and the small. She clapped and yes, she walked around Oh, by year one, the talents abound! Her loves were plentiful, from balloons to bath And running down many NY City path. Visits to Central Park were a lark - Riding the Merry-go-round in the Park!
And Maya loved playing a big "sis" - She'd pat her "baby" and give her a kiss. She'd crawl into her stroller and say "let's go"- Ready for an outing - her mommy in tow! They cooked her great meals (and she ate quite a lot) Wherever did she put it, that wee, little tot? | (This doggie liked Maya quite a lot - While for other wee ones he cared not. Maya petted him with oh, such glee - It was really fun to see.)
By fifteen months she entertained And thus our Maya since has reigned. She fooled her Nana at the bank Announcing her diaper was quite rank! So Nana carried her home, stroller in hand When we arrived Maya went for play land In the courtyard park telling Nana "no poo - I was just fooling you!" | And Maya and Savi were quite the team Each could make the other beam! | By June '06 she said her ABC's And knew she loved little "BobBee." She'd declare "Ahoy Mateys" to all she saw And call humongous any meal she'd gnaw. She'd count to 14, truly I say This she could do just any day. She sang "Lorelei" to us in the car This wee Maya did raise the bar!

Here Maya grew, oh so aware Of all creatures everywhere Insects and bugs, she knew them all And whether they could fly or crawl. She started a bug collection in her care And oh, she was so aware Of their names and habitat And whether they were thin or fat. And she set out on nature hunts Finding all sorts of things, huge and runts. She'd id a snake, chipmunk or mouse - And yes, I sent butterflies to Maya's house!
