FC: Michael McCracken My Scrap Book 10-1

1: The theme of my scrapbook is basketball because it is a huge part of my life and i am passionate about it.

2: Ode to my Basketball My basketball my life mandarin orange color circle shape not to bouncy not to flat, but just bouncy enough. My basketball always with me apart of my life I love it I am my basketball, and my basketball is me. Hoop dreams NCAA NBA I love my basketball ball is life ball over all hoop dreams. | An ode is a long lyric poem that focuses on one specific subject.

4: Free Verse Poems A free verse poem is a poem with no specific rules and rhyme scheme. Hoop Dreams I got hoop dreams just like a lot of players on teams I like my game defenders contain I got a little shot if I make a lot of shots i start to get hot and then I'm on fire and then I don't miss got the crowd sreaming got the scouts watching.

5: Tanka Poem A tanka is a japanese poem consisting of five lines, the first and third of which have five syllables and the others have seven syllables. Ball is Life Basketball is life loud squeaky whistles blowing orange ball bouncing black and white stripe shirts running their watching your every move

6: Author Study on Tatamkhulu Afrika | Tatamkhulu Afrika was an African poet born in 1920 in Egypt and moved to South Africa as a young child. He was an orphan because both of his parents died. His father was an Arab and his mother was Turkish. He was sent to his foster parents he was sent to Cape May, New Jersey. When he was moved with his foster parents he was considered as a white and he didn't like that. He also changed his religion to Islam. He made his first poem in 1991.The title of his first published poem was Nine Lives. Tatamkhulu had his own style of writing. He was narrative, lyrical, religious, political and compassionate.

7: Write - like | Their Government The government their government supposed to be our government to protect and inform us. but they think we don’t know their plan is to protect them. | Author Explanation I chose Tatamkhulu Afrika because i thought i things he went threw as young child were interesting and i thought his pain of the death of both of his parents would reflect in his poems
