Interphase-the longest phase in the cell cycle(not part of mitosis) *The period between cell division

G1 *Cell doubles in size | s *DNA is synthesis \replicated | G2 *Organelles are copied

Prophase-the first stage of mitosis or meiosis in eukaryotic cell division, during which the nuclear envelope breaks down and strands of chromatin form into chromosomes.

Nuclear membrane-near the end of the phase the nuclear membrane disappears. | Chromosomes-chromosomes coil up in this phase. | Centrioles-take their place at the poles during this phase. | Spindle Fibers\centremere-centremere attaches to th spindle fibers during this phase

Metaphase-the stage in mitosis or meiosis in which the duplicated chromosomes line up along the equatorial plate of the spindle.

Chromatid-the line up at the equator during this phase. Centremere-attach to the spindle fibers during this phase | Centriols-they hold the spindle fibers at the equator during this phase Spindle Fibers-are attached to the centremere

Anaphase-the stage in mitosis or meiosis following metaphase in which the daughter chromosomes move away from each other to opposite ends of the cell.

Centremere-split apart during this phase | Chromatid-during this phase the chromatids finally seperate becoming chromosomes | centriole-divides during this phase Spindle Fibers-go to the poles of the cell and split in half during this phase

Telaphase-the final stage of meiosis or mitosis, in which the separated chromosomes reach the opposite poles of the dividing cell and the nuclei of the daughter cells form around the two sets of chromosomes.

Chromosomes-Begin to uncoil back into chromatin during this phase | Nuclear Membrane-organells and DNA are split during this phase Centremere-they divide in this phase Centriole-splits into 2 pairs in this phase

Cytokinesis the division of the cell cytoplasm that usually follows mitotic or meiotic division of the nucleus. Division of cytoplasm occurs 2 nhew gentically identical diploid cells are made

Meiosis -makes a sperm and a egg cell | -there are two rounds of cell division
