38: Mom and Dad, You taught me that real love is standing side by side through difficulty and finding joy and laughter even when it seems impossible. You set an amazing example of what a family should be like. We were fun and silly andI wouldn't have had it any other way. In fact, as a child I remember my friends saying that I had the “cool” parents. Dad, you and I had the “noodle years” together. We watched “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Wizard of Oz” daily. I was even your groupie for a short time, traveling with the band. Mom, we had “chick flick” movie marathons where you taught me to respect the classics like “Pretty in Pink”. You had endless ideas for crafts like jewelry making and painting jean shorts with puffy paint lady bugs. As a family, we listened to loud music and laughed together constantly. At my wedding dad said, “most dads think their daughter is a princess, but mine really is.” I could never begin to repay you both for the amazing childhood that I was lucky enough to have. Twenty-seven years and two daughters later, you are as much in love as you ever were. That’s not to say times were always easy. Marriage and life have challenging times and when most couples these days would have given up on each other, you held on to the love- struck teenagers that you were when you met and fought for each other. You showed me that even in the face of adversity, real love can and does persevere. I am so proud of your commitment and even more proud to share in your vow renewal. I admire your relationship. I know you are absolutely best friends and it shows whenever you are together. You know everything about each other and you balance out one another’s strengths and weaknesses. Together you make the perfect team. I want to thank you for showing me what a strong marriage is. Adam and I hope to follow in your example of being a couple that loves each other through anything life throws at us. Enjoy this day and the new chapter beginning in your marriage. Use this book as a reminder of the incredible years you've shared and look to an equally incredible future. Know that I am always here to support you both and I love you as much as a person can possibly love their parents. Love, Rachy Ree

40: forever

41: To my loving parents, It seems impossible to put into words how strong our family is. I look at the relationships between the families of my friends and peers, and although many of them are comparable and share similar values, they still pale in comparison to the rare and special bond that the four of us share. I feel so unimaginably blessed to have had the unique and privileged life that you have given me, and without your unwavering love and support, I truly wouldn't be the person I am today. The love that you two share has set the bar extremely high, and I would not have it any other way. Looking at the struggles and obstacles you have overcome, both on your own, but more importantly together, has taught me that I should never settle for anyone less than my best friend, soul mate, and partner in all things. Looking at the two of you makes me beam with pride. In this ugly world where so many families let the constant stress of life pull them apart, you have never given up and have continued to value each other and Rachel and I above all other things. It is because of this, that the ugly world has been so much more beautiful for my sister and I. It is an unbelievably special thing to be able to tell my friends that not only were my parents high school sweethearts, but that they are still together and even stronger than ever in their love for each other. I know I don't have to tell you how rare and special that is, especially in today's world. So cheers to my amazing Mother and Father. I love you more than words can say and wouldn't give up a single day or memory with either of you for anything in the entire world. I can't thank you enough for being the role models that you have been in my life, and look forward to so many more milestones and memories that we have yet to make together. Pooks
