S: Happy 70th Birthday Cookie

FC: Making it Look Easy | A how to guide for the first 70 years

3: I was asked to write something about my big sister. I pondered that request and thought, "Where should I start?" So, I'll keep it simple and start from the beginning. Nicknames, we all had one... Yank (Dad), Little Midge and Grandma Ohio (Mom), Panda (Sandy), Cookie (Carol), Butch (Carl), Q'Ball (Susie), Curley (Earl). Yes, I'll keep it clean for this purpose only. I could go into each one and share with you the "why's" but this is about Carol Louis Gill-Davis, the birthday girl. So, how did she get this nickname? Did she eat cookies all the time? Did he steal cookies and horde them? Did she make cookies? Was she the outstanding Girl Scout who sold 100,000 boxes in one year and still hold the record? No. Did she invent a world famous cookie receipt like the chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie? Well, no. It's none of those reasons. So here's he truth... back when there was no color in the world (if you look at all of the photos of when she and Sandy were little, they are all black and white), the Gill family was made up of Mom and Dad Gill and two little girls (little Sandy and little Carol) all living on a farm in Canton, Ohio. Sandy being the olds always taught her little sister everything, playing dolls, helping Mom and Dad in the house and (if allowed) in the barn. One has to remember they were very young and as she started to communicate and talk a lot Carol would always call for Sandy's help "Sandy" this and "Sandy that." All was good until Sandy would call "Cuckoo! Cuckoo! Where is Cuckoo?" "Cuckoo want to play with dolls?" "Cuckoo want to go outside?" Yes, this is the truth! So a wise Mom and Dad said, "We've got a problem!" So they picked a name that young Sandy could say that would be acceptable. So they asked Sandy to say "Cookie"... and yes, you know the rest of the story. We all love you Aunt Cuckoo (Cookie). I could go into th origin of "Silverback" but I'll save that for another day.... Cookie, Happy Birthday! Love you, Carl/Butch XOXO
