S: 80th Birthday 2010
BC: Made with Love for Our MOM
FC: Happy 80th Birthday MOM
On August 31, 2010 Betty Rae VanMoorlehem turns 80. Her family all join together to help her celebrate this wonderful day.
The night before the birthday party many of the kids gathered in Pipestone at the Gonnerman's for a surprise retirement party for Jim. We sat around and visited during the day, waiting for Jim to arrive.. The surprise was on us however, since Jim decided not to stop in Pipestone and drove straight to Canby.
Isaac, Julia, Ava, and Clarissa were thrilled when 2 little bunnies found their way into Darlene's garage while we were sitting around visiting by the fire and eating pizza. Even the adults thought it was pretty cool.
Getting Ready | Mom always said, "Many hands make light work."
We reserved the shelter at the Canby park, so Mom wouldn't have to worry about a mess at her house. | We had salads, ,BBQ' pork sandwiches, chips, beans, fresh fruit, veggies from moms garden and the best cake ever! | No party is complete without balloons. | Brenda had a great idea; for everyone to write down all the jobs they had ever had on a tag board. Mom really did a great job preparing us for life.
A Time to Visit | Mom has a great time visiting with all of her children & grandchildren. David, Kent, and Amy all traveled to Canby to help Grandma celebrate her birthday.
Everyone enjoyed visiting with family they hadn't seen in years.
Even though all of mom's children and grandchildren weren't able to make it to the party, there was still a lot of catching up to do.
Chris chats with Doug & Sue while Amy visits with Sandy. Sue catches up with Kent while Bill visits with Elmer. Chris, Sandy, Jan, and Jeremy visit. while Jim and Ray shoot the breeze and Peggy looks on.
It was a beautiful day, we had to wear jackets or sweaters, but Mom was really glad it wasn't too hot, or raining. So, good weather for Minnesota.
Mom and Dad even got to visit with each other for a minute or two. Cousins, brothers, sisters, a good time was had by all.
 "Time to Eat!"
Birthday Presents | "The best gifts are homemade"
"When a daughter marries....a mom gains another son" | The girls have always known that mom likes her sons-in-law the best. She waits on them and spoils them every chance she gets.
