13: Good evening! My name is John Koepsel and for those of you that don’t know me, I am the very proud father of the bride! We could not be happier for them and are thrilled to welcome Cory into our family. So as most of you probably know, this all started on a cold December morning when we got a phone call from Hawaii. a place that we’ve never been and this little voice was saying 'Daddy, last night on the beach, Cory proposed and we’re getting married!' I instantly went all Steve Martin, so many memories went through my head. of all the things that we’ve done together, memories of her in a stroller as my first caddy, of her coming with me to my first job interview, memories of teaching her to bunt, teaching her to drive a stick shift, memories of those high school years as she rushed in and out the door with her friends like Meghan and Theresa! ..It looks like some things haven’t changed much! Morgan has a smile that lights up my heart and she is the best daughter ..no, no, blond, daughter, age 25, that I could ever ask for and now. I let her go on vacation with this Cory guy and she’s engaged.. Where has the time gone? Well, when she got home, I realized that this was really happening. All of a sudden, she and Tami are headed to bridal shows and we are visiting “Venues”.that’s what you call a reception location. I started to get used to the idea and I really began to see the upside of this marriage when Cory came to my house in the worst snow storm of the winter to snow blow my driveway and then he buys me new snow pants because he couldn’t believe that I was wearing wind pants to shovel, they were probably the same McFarland wind pants that I wore when he was in high school. I think his brand new toy, a giant snow blower, had something to do with his visit, but now the precedent has been set, I’ll be waiting! Cory loves baseball, as do I. And he also loves another of my favorites, golf. He might want to learn that out driving me by 150 yards is not his best quality! But I really enjoy playing with him. All of these qualities about Cory are nice but his best quality is..that he loves Morgan. And as her dad. that is all I could want for her. As we walked down the aisle today, she asked me not to cry. She looked like a princess and I realized, this is not a time for tears, it’s a time to celebrate. We have watched Morgan grow and change into a wonderful, beautiful, happy young lady and although she will always be my little girl, she and Cory are going to enjoy a long and happy life together. It’s been a pleasure getting to know Cory’s parents, John and Sue and we look forward to many great times together! Again.I want to thank all of you for being here tonight and for the roles that you have played in helping Morgan and Cory become the very special people that they are today. On behalf of John, Sue, Tami and I, we welcome you, we thank you and, and we hope you enjoy the evening. Please join me in a toast: To a long and happy marriage for Mr and Mrs Cory Schuchardt!
